Yep, the average will go down, but I want to see us fight until the end. There's still 10 minutes left and I would like to see Kat hit some shots before the final whistle.
As far as Kat goes I don't want to be too hard on her, and hope no one else is either, no matter what her final stats are for the game. She hasn't had many like this during her career and it was just a bad outing all the way around.
Baylor has really done the best job on keeping the ball away from Kat this season. She's had to take a couple of rushed shots as the clock ran down but hasn't really gotten a clean look.
That's true, BabHorn. And the simple truth is this team isn't going to win a game where Kat (0-6) and Yvonne (0-7) can't hit a single field goal. But both have been key for us this year so hopefully lesson learned, and they'll come back stronger the next outing,
well, we know this team can play against almost any other that doesn't have Griner. They did okay for the few minutes the main Baylor players were out there without Griner. They are doing very well against Baylor's subs, whom Mulkey said help comprise her deepest, most talented team.
At this point I am hoping the Horns make it above 50 and we keep the Bears under 100; funny how expectations change during the course of a game! And with 5 mins left I don't know how likely it is we'll keep them from hitting the century mark, but hey, you gotta find something to root for on a day like this!
96-68 Baylor. Baylor didn’t hit 100. Kat got some pts although I don’t think she made a FG.
Okay, team was eviscerated, drawn and quartered at Waco. Time to pack this one up and start to concentrate on Nebraska. That’s why those five wins coming into this game were so important.
And time to watch the Texas men take on Baylor at home.
Not the result we wanted but glad to see we kept fighting until the end. Can't worry about this one too long as there are six important contests to go and must be ready for the Huskers.
They should burn the DVD and move on. Not much to learn here. Baylor is one of the best teams in the country with one of the most dominating players in the history of the game. Hopefully they won't let loss linger and can just look ahead. Time to start another winning streak...
Actually better than I remember. TOs, Steals, Blocks, and Rebs are pretty close. We got 24 offensive rebounds, got 26 second chance pts off of those compared to 14 for Baylor. They got 15 pts off TOs while we got just 5. And of course, the two big differences, FTs and FGs. They took 24 less shots but were much more effective. And they got to the FT line three times more than we did. Horns actually shot slightly better from the FT line, just didn’t get as many attempts. TO numbers were a real surprise as I thought during the game that Texas was making TOs right and left. Not the case. They actually took pretty good care of the ball. Not much to hang your hat on but there were some bright spots.
