Texas at OU Wed. nite

This game is a glaring example of why we're still a couple of years away from "elite" just like there's a learning curve for players, there's that same curve for coaches. Aston consistently gets out coached against the quality coaches in the B12. There's absolutely no reason why foman should be playing down the stretch. She's offered nothing but turnovers. It's just the little things that killed us in this game

well, not looking good. Horns are going to really have to work on outside shooting cuz that packing the paint is not going to stop.

Well-deserved loss. OU doesn't have a single player I would want on our roster, but under Coale's direction, they played much better as a team than we did.

Basically, Aston was out-coached again by a Big 12 coaching veteran. Just can't get her players to make good decisions on the court. Should have told them to stop shooting the threes, and should have told Kelsey to quit shooting from the perimeter.

Two losses this early basically means not winning the Big 12 title; road game at Baylor on Monday could get ugly for us.

well, the only good thing about this is that Nneka has hit her FTs. Not the start envisioned for the first four games but we got Tech Sat before another tough road game on Monday. Tech is going to be riding high after that win over WVU tonight.

Certainly don't look like a 4/5 ranked team. Nneka was a beast though. She looked like the only one that came to play tonight.

I really feared this. Everyone played hard, but the loss at ISU must have blasted a huge hole in our confidence. Now we can get the pressure of a high ranking off our back and try to get back to form. I don't think this would have happened if Ariel and Brianna had been able to play. Surely out of that many guards, some would have been able to hit some baskets. Lang needs to work on posting low and not fall too much in love with the jump shot. Nneka was remarkable.

Did Nneka have more than one basket in the second half? She had double-digit points at half, so despite playing so hard, she couldn't score much in the second half either.

Despite her God-awful hair, Coale is a great coach. Maybe that's what it takes. Bad hair. It works for Baylor and OU.

Welp, Nneka had 21 pts., and 16 rebounds. That's pretty damn good. Like i said, she seemed to be the only one that came to play tonight.

Well damn. That was embarrassing. Losing two games to unranked teams that struggled in nonconference. Obviously this team lacks leadership and maturity.

Leadership and maturity to tell Brady and Nekia to stop jacking up the 3's.

Leadership and maturity to tell Imani to keep the ball up high and stop bringing it down and losing the ball.

Leadership and maturity from Kelsey and Empress to hit the simple 15 footers.

Leadership and maturity to have the guards stop helping the posts in the paint; the posts are fine. Guards stay out on opponents who are hot shooters from the 3 (see Iowa State and Oklahoma games).

We really need to get healthy so we can get the rotations back that made us so successful- we have quality depth, but some are being forced into a bigger role and that's hurting- there are reasons why some players start and some are role players - Atkins and Taylor when healthy make us a whole different team - it's hard from a coaching stand point when you lose starters or top players and have to make adjustments on the fly- I feel this team is too good not to rebound - the loss at Iowa st was big because we blew such a big lead and that plays with a team mentally- we have work to do - and you have to hit open shots

Once again you have to have some fight, energy and passion.
Great game Nneka. But she need some consist help.
Got to cut down on the Turnover's.Unnecessary Turnover at that.
Oklahoma was slow.
Our guard's did not attack them at all.

Unfortunate the Horns dug a hole at 1-2 for conference play. I said OU was a must win and guess what, a blowOUt.

what would help is for Brooke to find her 3pt shot. She was 0-7 from BTA in the OU game and 1-6 in the ISU game. She was hitting just under 50% from BTA before the start of conference play. Brady hit 6-12 from BTA vs ISU and OU. While some of those 3pters were too early in the play, they were open looks. That doesn't mean they were the best shot, though, I agree. Horns are missing open shots inside the paint which is where we are really hurting.

I agree that we are missing Ariel and Bri's ability to convert inside the arc but the players we got that are getting those good looks there are not hitting the shot like they were against Stanford, UCLA, A&M and Tenn. Whether that is just simply a slump or a lack of confidence in that shot doesn't matter. The result is that it allows opponents to pack the pack, making shots for our posts extremely difficult.

Tech is going to be a test. Then we will see how the team plays against Baylor. Whoever was at the game (Ariel or Bri) is close to returning to game action which should give the team one more body to contribute.

We are not the same team in the paint as we were prior to Kelsey's minor injury. Honestly, her not being able to make shots is changing the entire offensive mentality.

While I understand if the injury has had an effect an her game, but the same thing happened with Lang last year; she was great in non-conference, but once Big 12 play rolled around, she hit a wall. This is my major concern. We have to get Kelsey back in her rhythm.

Ok you are right 2-2. Still, Texas should be undefeated until the first Baylor match. Tech won't be a cake walk this year.
