Texas at OSU

OSU's announcers have pointed out the tendency of Riley to start putting up wild shots when she "gets frustrated" and then they pondered whether she was being frustrated in this game by the defense being played on her or by the current results of the game

HAving seen one of the earlier posts about being stuck with the Stars game on FSN, if you have DISH, then look at the alternate sports channels. I also have the Stars on the regular FS SW channel, but got the OSU feed on an alternate sports channel. It also shows to be on ESPN Full Court, but I don't have that package and do not know whether it is a Texas feed or a repackaging of the OSU feed.
 
Riley picks up her fourth per the announcers. Yvonne scores on that and has a FT to take after the media timeout. Horns continue to run away with this one. They are not letting up.

Media timeout at the 7:24 mark. Horns lead 75-51. Horns have really cooled off and gotten careless at times but OSU has not been able to take advantage. Horns need to at least match baskets the rest of the way.
 
that's about the fourth illegal screen on the Horns and it cost us a 3 by Kat this time. Still 75-51 Horns.
 
That's about the third time that Ashley has been called for 3 seconds. Cowgirls have cut the 30 pts down to 18. Coach G can't be happy. Still plenty of time to lose this game if the Horns don't regain their focus. Let's go, Horns!! Finish this one off!!

Kat's 3 pushes it back to 20, 83-63. Hernandez for OSU to shoot 2 FTs after the media timeout. Horns have been matching the Cowgirls scoring the last couple of minutes. Riley is about the fastest getting the ball from one end to the other for a fast break layup I've seen. I thought Robinson from OU was fast but Riley seems to be faster.
 
Horns are going to come out of this four game stretch against OU, A&M, Baylor, and OSU 2-2 and move to 4-3 in Big 12 play. Three of those four games were on the road and the Horns will have won their two games on the road. Sets up good for the closing stretch.
 
Great game for Britt. Hopefully she's gotten her confidence back now.....right when the team needs her!!
 
jusme828, Horns might have hit 100 if they hadn't had a stretch where they shot poorly and turned it over. I'll take 91 pts.

I love the 91, but was hoping for more considering that 91 means we only hit for 36 in the second half.

And...since we were up by 30 at one point, I hope that part of practice focuses on maintaining the killer instinct. If you have the foot on the throat, KEEP IT THERE! There is too much talent across the conference to afford to get lackadaisical just because we have a 10-possession lead. Time and again, we see streaks in the middle of a game...we've had them and our opponents have had them.

The OSU announcers noted the way the strategy should have played out at that point...there were two media time-outs remaining and they were talking about the goal should be to get to a particular point by the first one and then get it to 10 before the last media time-out (roughly the 4:00 mark). Fortunately, OSU didn't do anything too terribly damaging, but there was too much time left for the team to be as careless as they got at times.

That being said...let's catch fire again in time for the game this weekend.
 
This lineup change has done wonders for this team. Great win! Looks like our emotional chart has turned back to excitement and enthusiasm...and optimism.

One line I particularly liked was Font's (or AT):

She played 26 mins, mostly guarding Riley and she only had one foul. Riley is so good at getting people to foul her and she went to the line a lot. But she didn't get our fabu frosh (Font/AT) to foul her excessively)
