Nebraska is 14-0, one of five undefeated teams in the nation. They upended Iowa State in Ames last Saturday 57-49 while
Texas was being taken to the cleaners by A&M in Austin , 91-70. That loss snapped a six game winning streak the Horns had going. Both teams have faced Miami at Coral Gables, FL. with both winning. Nebraska took a 76-71 win while Texas won 76-65.

Kelsey Griffin, Dominique Kelley, Cory Montgomery, and Lindsey Moore have started all 14 games so far. Yvonne Turner has started 11 and Kala Kuhlmann 3. 8 players have played in all games. Those eight were the only ones to see action in the win at ISU. They lost 6-4 Sr. C Nikki Bober to a right knee acl in a November practice before the third game of the season.

Kelsey Griffin leads four Huskers in double figures with a double double average of 18.7 ppg and 10.2 rpg.
Montgomery (12.5 ppg), Kelley (11.6 ppg) and Turner (10.3 ppg) are the other three. Moore’s 55 assists are twice more than any other Husker. Catheryn Redmon is the only Husker with double digits blocks with 34.
Griffin, while teaming with Montgomery to give Nebraska a solid inside game, is capable of hitting from BTA, has hit 45.5 from there. Turner is the primary 3pt shooter (30-77, 39%).

Texas is led by Brit (14.8 ppg) and Kat (13.5 ppg). Ashleigh (9.1 ppg) and Erika (8.7 ppg) provide scoring support. Ashley had a double doubles in the last game and is averaging 7 ppg to go with 7.4 rpg, tops on the team. kat is second in rebounds with 7.2 rpg.

The Horns are hitting 37% of their 3s for the season although they shot a poor 4-17 (23.5%) during their first conference game. Nebraska also had trouble connecting from BTA against ISU, managing to hit only 6-26 (23.1%).

As poorly as the Horns played in the first half, they turned around and played well in the second. They will need to start off strong from the beginning to pull off a win in Lincoln. Nebraska has won 8 home games this season and 12 straight dating back to last season. They last lost a home game on Feb. 04, 2009 76-71 to Baylor. It will not be an easy task for the Horns to win in Lincoln. While the Huskers are averaging just over 3300 attendance per home game, there should be few more when the Horns come to town.

Like the Horns, the Huskers take a lot of shots from BTA, each taking about 30% of their shots from BTA. In fact, each has taken exactly 284 3s this season. Texas has a decent inside game offensively with Ashley and Cokie combining for 14 ppg. Griffin gives Nebraska a solid edge inside with her 18.7 ppg.

There is no TV for this game. KVET 1300 AM should carry the game in the Austin area.

3 Goals
1. Play both ends of the court for 40 MINUTES!
2. Consistency making shots
3. Leave it all on the court

I feel like a broken record.

Wonder how many of our girls have seen that much snow? Hope Ashley had some cake tonight. Happy Birthday, AG!

Well, much as I hate to admit, there's nothing there that is not true. Horns have waited until the second half in those three games to show up. That won't cut it. They have to play the entire game. And they have to do it against a&m, Baylor, Nebraska and the other Big 12 schools but especially against those three.

The good thing is that they are capable of it. The bad is that they have yet to show it.

Horns need to sweep this week to stay in the Big 12 championship conversation.

You can see the game on the Internet for $9.95...
If you sign up for the monthly pass for HuskerNSider, and then just cancel before the end of the month, you'll only pay the $9.95.....

I think you can listen
for free on the Husker Website...

I have to work until 8:00 tonight, so won't bother this year,
but hey, it's an option, especially for those out of range of 1300 The Zone....

10-11 NU after Brit hits a 3. , 15:19 to go in the first. Kat had the first five pts for the Horns.

21-19 Nebraska - Horns came to play; Kat hitting some threes; Earnie rebounding with putbacks. Erika and Britt have both hit.

I'm listening online too. Looks like the HORNS have came to play! HOOK'EM HORNS!! 32 - 30 TX 7:50ish .

did i hear them say Brit has 14 pts. already???? get a quick breath Brit.....and get back in there!!!

That last minute in the half hurt us. 44 - 50 NB. We're in this! Let's go HORNS!

Kat hit a 3 to get the Horns back to 44-50. Playing better than Saturday with a good chance to pull it out. Kat with 15 and Brit with 14 lead the Horns. NU has 3 in double figures: Kelley and Turner with 13 and Griffin with 15.

well, their halftime game plan is to get Brit and Kat out of the game. who's going to take on the challenge to step up???

Freakin nice first half though....LET'S GO HORNS!!!
