Glad to get the win. I knew it wouldn't be easy. Nekia contributed as soon as Coach A put her in the game; great move; hope to see more of it.
When I look at the stats, I see that the squad shot 46.4% from the file; outrebounded KSU by 10, had many more assists, and turnovers were equal.
The glaring stat is the free throws made and attempted compared to KSU. Strange that we sent them to the line so much (as I don't consider them a great penetrating team), but that is just how the refs called the game, I suppose.
Perhaps a close game serves this squad better in the end as it shifts its focus to prepare for Baylor.
FTs have kept several of our opponents in the game and in the Baylor match up, the argument could be made that they gave Baylor the win (sour grapes alert). With home court advantage and if FTs are not an issue, I still think we have a shot against Baylor but its certainly an uphill battle especially if OS is on fire.
