gonna lost two in a row with a&m coming to Austin. Can't score. Really good effort, just not enough offensive power tonight.
 
This was really frustrating....we played so hard, and it was basically reffed away from us, just awful, awful...I hate to say that was it, but it WAS...

A lot of bad calls by the refs, but we got to play thru that. I like the effort though.

We played tough. Bad luck to lose AG with so few minutes of playing time. Anderson, Moore, and Hartung especially impressed me. I don't agree with Coach G putting Chassidy on the bench and basically forgetting about her after the first half. Yea, her shooting was awful, but she has more competitive fire than just about anyone and lots of composure. She might have gotten it together in the last five minutes, or in overtime. Sometimes it only takes one for them to start going in. It wasn't like anyone was shooting lights out at that point in the game. I wanted to see Chas in the game, driving to the basket, especially since she shoots free throws so well. I'd like to know GG's thinking. Had she given up on her for her bad shooting? Teaching her some kind of lesson? Was she not playing hard enough to get more second half minutes? All that aside, I did like everyone's effort, and in the face of a lot of bad calls.
 
Tough loss, but unlike the OU game I've got no complaints. They played hard and didn't give up. Chas having an off night (I hear she is sick) and AG getting into early foul trouble made for a bad night for the horns.

I too thought the calls, especially in the first half, were a bit ridiculous but that might be sour grapes.

Makes these last three games that much more crucial.

I still pick the Horns to make it to the dance and to go deep. Too bad a certain someone from Seattle and a certain someone else from Dallas won't wait for three weeks to begin the doom and gloom game again. If only the ladies knew that we really wanted the W just to shut those two up...

This is just unacceptable!

I support the HORNS, but women's basketball has absolutely gone wrong!!!! I have not seen improvement at all.

People have made comments about Connie Clark, Bev Kearney, etc. These coaches have won Big 12 titles, Bev has the #3 team in the nation currently....Connie's squad is undefeated, etc

Something needs to change with WBall. We are not good! A school like TEXAS should not be in 7th place in this league. The current players at TEXAS are getting a scholarship to go to a great university. They should be better than that!!!!

This type of effort is the effort you support in high school. Everyone is basicall on the same level. UT students are NOT on the same level as the other schools. They have more, much more!!!!!

I just can't believe we are this bad and have been this bad for years. I feel bad for Chassidy....I hope her whole career is not wasted here at TEXAS with mediocre to bad teams.
 
Cuernos, as has been stated on this page many times, such negative talk will not be acknowledged. Only panglossian visions of rainbows and kittens are allowed here. Don't even think about mentioning only one NCAA win in this coach's tenure. Don't dare mention we received no votes in the most recent AP poll i.e. we are not even a top 30 team. Don't mention we pay a million a year for this stuff. Don't confuse this program with the Donna Lopiano years ('Be top ten, or leave'). To say such things would only make you seem negative to people who love the Longhorns so much more than you.

Ignoring the doom and gloom.

I remember when we lost in the final four in 2003. I was at the hotel when the team came back after the game and I said I thought the officiating was awful to Jamie Carey. Mature leader that she was (and still is I am sure), she let me know very kindly, that it was up to the team to play in a way that the refs couldn't make the difference or they hadn't played as they should. I'll always remember that.

Every HORNS team has been through a black period at some point in the Big 12, except for Men's Swimming. Baseball was not good, Football wasn't good, Basketball wasn't good....you get my drift.....BUT everyone of those teams have seen Big 12 championships and national spotlight.

I do want the women's basketball team to finally turn the corner, but something is missing!!!!

I remember our Volleyball team post Erin Aldrige....they had some bad years, and they could never beat NEBRASKA!!!! We would lose to the likes of Missouri and A&M!!!! Look at them now!!! Three final fours and a title that slipped away! Top talent wants to play for TEXAS now. It took Elliott 5 or 6 years to get things going in the right direction.

The only thing that I don't see with the women's basketball team is IMPROVEMENT!!! They aren't getting better. Losing to Missouri is not getting better! It will be a lot harder for Coach G as Baylor, A&M, OU are all established teams now. Elliot only had to deal with beating NEBRASKA for the title.

Two mor years for Coach G and let's see what she can do. Chassidy will be a junior and hopefully she can bring a couple of more players like her.

Coach G's resume is impressive. She has been to four final fours and 2 national championship games!!!!! Jody didn't even have that many!

the bottom line is we are not getting our million dollars worth from our coach no matter how you slice it - it's very frustrating because she is a very good coach and has a great record to back it up - she has had big trouble with how hard the recruiting is in texas and the big 12 - her lack of depth and numbers is still puzzling - also, she needs to sell Texas more and stop bringing up her Duke accomplishments for example in camps she will go on and on about her duke players that maybe helping and just introduce the former UT players without naming any accolades - she will get another year because of cokie's injury - however, i think the leash will be very short next year - it's a travesty to see how for we have fallen just this year - getting blown out by baylor is one thing - but losing twice to just a good ou team and one being a romp is unacceptable not to even bring up missouri - those who are saying we are bad fans for being critical, well it is what it is - this is big time college athletics and we expect to be big time at Texas - now to end on a positive comment - i do think she has what it takes to coach here, but she must recruit much better - i want her to be successful but this is year 4.......
 
Next year has to be a no excuses year. Every player will be a GG recruit. If not enough depth because someone gets hurt, it reflects GG recruiting and decision making. In Lopiano's day there weren't 10 top teams in the country. Its a so much more competitive now although still top heavy. GG is a great coach; maybe just not here.
 
We need to just hang in there with the Staff. Now if she had a full health squad,C.Reed and getting the same results she is getting this year. I can see us as fans being upset. For what she has this year. They have overachieved! I dont think you will see negative comments next year. And when she took over the program,it was already a down Womens program. I will say again. We wait to late to change Coaches.We allow G.Blair, K.Mulkey and S.Coale to just pass our programs with the recruits in the State of Texas.
