Others that can hit from BTA are Krystle (24-60; 40.0%) and Celina (16-46; 34.8%). The Horns ranked 9th in the league in FT% (424- 625; 67.8%). Nneka was the player that usually ended up at the FT line. She was a decent 69.9% (102-146) from there. Five players averaged less than 60% from the FT line. Brady (45-54; 83.3%); Lilley (9-11; 81.8%); Chassidy (53-70; 75.7%); Kelsey (18-23; 78.3%) and Empress (45-64; 70.3%) all made over 70% of their FTs.Horns topped the Big 12 in rebounding margin at a +11.6. They ranked second in rebounding offense (44.5 rpg) and first in rebounding defense (32.9 rpg). Nneka was second in the league in rebounding at 8.8 rpg. Imani added 7.2 rpg. Empress was third at 4.1 rpg. All 11 players in the core rotation average at least 1.5 rpg. Imani is second in the league with 68 (2.2 bpg) while Kelsey is 11th at 1.0 bpg (32 total). Nneka adds 20 blocks for the season. Horns are 9th in the league in steals at 5.8 spg. Celina leads the team with 33. Nneka (25) and Brady (24) are the other Horns with over 20 steals for the season.

Horns have 11 players that play in most games. Brady (26.6 mpg) and Nneka (25.9 mpg) top the team in minutes played per game. They are two of seven players that average at least 20 mpg. Three others average between 10 and 15 mpg. One averages 9 mpg. Three others are also available to play, depending on game situations. 12 players have started at least one game. The starters in the last few games has been Brady, Celina, Chassidy, Imani and Nneka.

Texas will play inside out. The guards will need to hit their shots to open up the inside for the posts. That will keep opponents from collapsing inside and stifling the posts. Rebounding and defense should help keep the Longhorns in every game. Getting to the FT line will as important as making them. Texas gets to the FT line less than any of the other three teams and has the lowest FT percentage of the four teams.

Army Black Knights (25-7)

The Black Knights are led in scoring by the two pronged scoring punch of Kelsey Minato (21.8 ppg) and Jen Hazlett (13.8 ppg). Minato is 76-175 (43.4%) and Hazlett connects on 37.9% (72-190) of her treys. Brianna Johnson (17-67 (25.4%) and Jean Parker (33-81; 40.7%) are the other Black Knights to watch out for from BTA. Minato has made 204 of her 220 FTs (92.7%). Three others are grouped around 85-86 FTs, second on the team in FTs attempted. Hazlett has hit 62-85 (72.9%). Brigette Ocran averages 7.4 mpg in the 25 games she has appeared in. No one else has played in more than 19 games or averages more than 7.4 mpg.Army depends on a short rotation, basically seven players. They are also a small team with 6-2 Oertner the tallest player. Penn game preview from the AAS:
Amid improvement, Aston sees Texas as Final Four-caliber team soon

And our guards continue to shrink, according to the AAS. First, it was Brady listed as 5-8 instead of 5-11 as listed in the UT roster, Now, both Brady and Chas are listed at 5-8. Chas has been 5-10 all season. Likewise, for the first time this season, the AAS is listing Celina at 5-6 vs her UT roster height of 5-8. Whatever UT is using in the water, they gotta stop. At this rate, our guards are going to looking up at Brooke this summer.

Time to plan a trip to Italy in the summer of 2015. Per Coach Aston, the team will be visiting Italy in 2015

tipoff in 15 minutes! Winner gets Maryland on Tuesday!
Let's go, Horns! Time to take that next step.

well, can't like this start. 6 FGs, 9 TOs, several of those resulting in negating FGs. Down ten 27-17 with 7:20 to go. Need a strong finish to the half.

COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND RIDICULOUS!!!!! First, the first loss ever to TCU ... now the second school to lose to the Ivy League. Complete lack of preparation. They're frightened and tentative.

a bit ragged on D on that last possession but it ended with a rebound by Gigi and a three from Nekia. That's five straight pts and brings the Horns within ten. Need more of that. Go, Horns!

I don't care whether it's TWO MINUTES or FORTY MINUTES. Twelve turnovers and what I witnessed in the first half is UNACCEPTABLE FOR TEXAS whether it's a minute or four years of the same. it's an unacceptable standard of performance. This isn't the third week of play.

good finish for Texas, down 7, 38-31 after being down 15. manageable deficit. just need to keep Baron under control and quit making TOs.

I'd like to see some halftime adjustments. Can someone guard Baron?? C'mon Horns. You can do this!

what kind of adjustments? If we weren't turning the ball over, regardless of Baron's 18 pts, Texas would be leading this game. Baron has scored on all three of Texas' best perimeter defenders. Sometimes, a scorer just goes off. What I want is for Chas to start getting some shots. She's capable of doing in the second half what Baron did in the first.

I'd also like to see better shot selection. Why are we rushing shots??? Within 4 now. C'mon!!

gametracker showing Imani with a double double (13 pts & 10 rebs).

Sure hope Nneka's injury is not serious.
