Texas at AM, Wed.

That was the best game I've seen our team play in years. No lapses, no fear, all out effort. Everyone was unselfish, every player contributed. We took care of the ball relatively well. Gayle played out of her mind. Everyone else was in very good form. Loved Cokie's rebounding. She looked so much quicker than Kelsey Bone. (In fact, Bone was a disappointment --- I always thought she would be so good.) Congratulations to the team.
 
Happy 22nd Birthday to #22....and she almost scored her age!!
She was a BEAST...and so was Cokie...NNeka was very impressive, Chas was, well, Chas "I'm Baaaaack"....Yvonne with a CAREER_HIGH in assists....almost broke Kamie Ethridge's Texas Record....

Gayle I'm most pleased w/ur performance 2nite. 12 shot and 8 drop. 17 points. Now that's what we need to see every game.

Remember the "discussion" during the other game...sometimes it does a team good. Let's put all the cards on the table and talk about it. Next we have a captain's meeting and now we beat A&M.

I had watched some TV news interviews earlier in the week; Coach G and the different players interviewed seemed very confident as they spoke about the upcoming game in College Station. You would never guess they were 0-2 in conference games thus far.
 
But we got to keep playing like this!
If we would have played like this against Kansas and Ok St. we would have beaten them.
Keep working ladies!
 
I think what suprised me the most was Ashely Gayle's offensive performance. And, she was able to stay on the floor pretty much entire second half without picking up that 3rd foul, correct?

The offensive execution was terrific. Hats of to Chelsea Bass, as well, who had a great gamer herself!

Looks like we want to give the Aggies some going away presents to remember us by-in all sports. They should leave more often.
Congrats to Coach G on finally beating aggy. The ladies played tough, especially inside.

When I came to this forum to check out the result of the game, before clicking the thread, I noticed it was 4-page long and Seattle was not the last poster, I knew Texas won.

This may be the turning point for the program and Coach G.
Remember Kim couldn’t beat Jody for an extended period of time initially. But, when she did, she went ahead winning a NC shortly afterwards.
 
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Well done. Good job. One for the ages. Beat the defending national champs on their home floor. Does not get much better than that.

Funny that fans on TexAgs are claiming they got hosed all night by the "Big 12" refs; too bad they didn't look at the free throws attempted by both teams, particularly in the first half . . .

I just want to say that I posted congratulations to the team and coach on the other thread but after watching the game on dvr late last night, I'm even more impressed. We had a game plan and we executed it. I've always seen attempts at changing defenses but last night the change in offensive schemes got my attention as well. Working the action on one side of the court and hitting the wide open 3 point shooter was great in the first half. Then in the 2nd half Yvvonne hanging out in the backcourt and running the offense in 15 seconds was a great strategy at slowing down A&M and also in limiting our turnovers. If you don't spend 30 seconds trying to pass the ball around the perimeter to get a shot against an aggressive aggie defense that is very athletic and capable of getting a lot of steals and instead you run your offense in 15 seconds there is less opportunity for steals. This kind of in game strategy is what I expect for our million dollars.

Those of you on this board chalking up wins against OU you need to wake up, those girls played A&M tough for a half and just upset undefeated Tech. There are no gimmes in this league and our girls have to bring it every single night or we wind up with results like last week. In case I'm being too subtle I'm directing this partly at the one that called me delusional!
 
Oh Tempest, you are just too good.... at stating the obvious. No question conference play is difficult. If anything, my prediction of a Texas win over Oklahoma should be a "compliment" given the inconsistent team that has played on the court this year. Tech should have won over OU but the game was played at OU and from reading the comments on the game, OU kept on missing many shots, especially in the first half.

I just hope Gayle continue to SHOOT THE BALL!!! 17 points - UNBELIEVABLE. Her average I thing is around 5ish. That's 12 more points. I wonder what the score would look like if we add 12 more points to our previous games. Somebody w/ nothing to do can figure that out for us. LOL!!

Yvonne's execution at the point last night was great. She saw the floor and made the plays. And she spread the ball around.

Bass is coming along fine. She just needs to work on her timing.

O sidebar - so where is Tiff? and enquiring minds want to know will Ronisha get out of the doghouse and stay out!?!?!? SMH!!

I'm very hyped about this win. Hopefully the tide has turned and the Horns get it! But since I've been following the Horns they are so Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde. But I'm going to relish in this win until the next game. LOL!!

After watching the game for the third time, and looking at the stat sheet I am even more impressed with this win. We only had 14 TO's, thats a season low. We also dominated a few other categories:
Rebounding +3
Points in the paint 40-12
Fast break points 20-9
We also shot 47% and that includes (45% from BTA)
And probably most impressive of all the numbers is the fact that we never trailed in the final 32 minutes of the game.

Again, Great job players and staff
