I'm about 30 minutes early with this. What can I say? I've been waiting for this all week.

Will try to update with hitting lineups, starting pitchers, etc. as soon as they're official.

Cole Green with the start.

Roller to second for out No.1.

Chopper to first for out No.2.

Cole with a two-out walk to put a man on first.

Chopper to second and a subsequent throw to first ends the inning.

To the bottom of the first ...

According to GameTracker, we'll be facing Matt Fouch.

Batting order and lineup for Texas is:

Tucker (2B)
Belt (1B)
Torres (3B)
Rupp (C)
Loy (SS)
Clark (DH)
Keyes (RF)
Shepherd (LF)
Rowe (CF)

Tucker leads off with a bouncer to second. One down, Belt up.

Belt beaned in the head on a 2-2 count and is down. Looks bad. Looks real bad.

Belt is on his feet but very woozy and appears to be bleeding. He's taken to the dugout and won't be back.

Talk is Preston Clark will replace Belt at first. If that happens, I believe we'll lose our DH privilege. Is that so?

Jordan Etier to pinch run for Belt. Way says Shinaberry is loosening up to play first, so Clark will stay at DH.

Update on the play that hurt Belt: it was a fastball that appeared to catch Brandon just below the helmet. Wasn't intentional, but still very nasty and very unfortunate.

OK, resuming play after an 11-minute delay. Torres up.

Torres with a fly to left center. Two down, one on, Rupp up.

Outside payoff pitch for ball four puts Rupp on first and advances Etier to second. Two down, Loy up.

Routine fly ball to left ends the inning. Texas leaves two. Army pitcher looks more than a little shaky. Safe to say he's not hitting his spots.

To the second, no score.

I thought it had gotten him completely in the helmet...but looking at that towel...it had to have gotten part of the head. Came up very woozy and had to be assisted off the field. I really hope it's nothing bad and we can get him back soon.

Army's order and lineup:

Price (2B)
Ernesto (CF)
Moore (SS)
Henshaw (DH)
McKague (1B)
Koenigsfeld (LF)
Polchinski (3B)
Fleming (RF)
Watkins (C)

The helmet could have cut him. It wouldn't surprise me if he isn't back for the rest of the regional. I don't have any inside information but as woosy as he was I would imagine there will be some blurry vision to go with obvious headaches and trouble concentrating.

Moreland says Cole Green is going to bat in the 2 hole for Belt, while Clark will move from DH to first, so we technically don't have a DH right now, we've lost our best hitter, and we have a pitcher hitting who hasn't had an at-bat in at least a couple of years.

Green pitching low and hitting his spots. Two routine grounders go for outs.

Clark fields a grounder and steps on first for the unassisted out.

No score, to the bottom of the second ...

Green has had a solid outing through 2. Anyone have his pitch count? I think he threw 5 pitches in the 2nd.

Clark grounds out to second for out No.1. Keyes up.

Keyes with a chopper to third. Two down, bases empty.

Way said Belt is coherent but will probably be taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.

Shep with a two-out, infield single for the first hit of the game. One on, two out. Rowe up.

Rowe lifts a 3-1 pitch to center. Catch is made to end the inning. Texas strands another.

Still no score, heading to the third ...

Cole starts the third with a four-pitch strikeout.

Cole Ks another. Two outs.

Comebacker to Cole and a flip to first ends the inning.

Way with an update on Belt: he's been taken to Brackenridge for precautionary reasons with a contusion and a laceration below his right ear. where_are_my_8s is probably right--the helmet probably cut Belt.

Way also said the injury does not appear to be serious.

I don't understand...if you player in the 2nd position goes down to injury, why isn't he replaced by the back up 1st baseman? Unless the backup is the current pitcher, what's the big deal?

Tucker earns a leadoff walk. Green up to bat. Way says he hasn't batted since high school. C'mon, Cole! Move Tuck over!

Green with a surprisingly nice bunt down the first-base line. Only play is to first. Tucker advances to second. One down, one on. Torres up.

Torres with a base hit to left. Tucker waved home (unadvisedly, I might add). He's rounding third as the left fielder is scooping up the ball. LF makes a great play and hoses Tucker at the plate.

I guess we wanted to test them, but that seemed ill-advised.

Torres moves to second. Rupp up. Two down.

Torres steals third.

Cameron bloops a 3-2 pitch to shallow center. Torres scores and the 'Horns are up, 1-0!!!!

Loy with a routine grounder to short ends in fielder's choice at second. Inning is over with Texas up, 1-0.

To the top of the fourth ...
