Texas A&M CC

End of 2 tied 1-1
J Flores got his first hit, a HR, he’s the DH tonight. Carlson playing third.
LBJ has struck out 4 I think but still throwing in the dirt and he nibbled around the edges to walk a batter to lead off the second. He gave up a HR in the 1st.

O'Dell with the sac fly.

Our batters can hit, even light up, mediocre pitching. 10 hits already.

5-1 us. Still 2 on the bags with one out.

Big 5th inning. Horns are making CC pay for their mistakes like they should. Bottom 6 10-1 horns.
Shaw looked good there. He’s hitting some pretty fine spots.

It looks like we'll be using Charlie Hurley mostly as a middle reliever early on this year.

Seems to me that he should be our #2 or #3 starter, but I haven't coached any teams to the College World Series yet...

Meanwhile Texas A&M - College Station falls to Lamar at home....7-4.

I would like to see fewer hits from Hurley. All our pitching I hold my breath but him I hold it a little more. I’m glad we have about two weeks of teams that we should make easy work of, so many pitchers need live innings.

Stuart shows some promising stats, he strikes out a lot of the batters he faces but they either SO or hit, need to keep working to lower those hits.

currently, the pitchers that are rising to me are Shaw, Lummus, Stuart and Duplantier.

after looking at last weekend, stehle and morehouse need another look, the defense let them down. I would like to see them pitch with TC at third.

Would like to see Peyton Powell in DH spot. That leaves Flores out but he could get some spot hitting over the weekend. Several hitters are currently low in the avg and need to find their groove.

Hurley had a good track record at USC. He’s sort of the opposite of most of our pitching staff last year—Hurley is consistently pretty good, but doesn’t have killer stuff. (from what I’ve seen anyway)

We'll see how LBJ does against LSU.

It's pretty fluid.

Could end up something like this:

Weekend Starters:

1. Gordon
2. Morehouse
3. LBJ

Mid-Week Starter:

4. Hurley

True, i really don't want to see him against LSU, would rather LBJ go against them but you are correct and I agree its probably fluid.

Note, Dylan Campbell is very adept at hitting balls on the inside of the plate (or even pitches thrown inside that are not over the plate).
