It looks like we'll be using Charlie Hurley mostly as a middle reliever early on this year.
Seems to me that he should be our #2 or #3 starter, but I haven't coached any teams to the College World Series yet...
Hurley had a good track record at USC. He’s sort of the opposite of most of our pitching staff last year—Hurley is consistently pretty good, but doesn’t have killer stuff. (from what I’ve seen anyway)I would like to see fewer hits from Hurley. All our pitching I hold my breath but him I hold it a little more. I’m glad we have about two weeks of teams that we should make easy work of, so many pitchers need live innings.
