TexAgs spoke too soon after our JR day

Plus 1 to Lake Erie...agricultural isn't in the Big XII after July 1, and UT isn't playing 'em anymore for a long time, if ever. Now, tell me how 'Ole Miss' recruiting is going...at least we play them sometime soon.

10 recruits and counting. That's 9 four stars and 1 five star. Those comments in the OP are becoming more inane by the day. I get aggy is no longer relevant to us but the schadenfreude is just too addictive.

Smaller recruiting class??? No problem...we'll just take all the four and five stars everybody wants. Problem solved.

I'll still accept them in my life for the humor. It's pretty funny watching the evolution from:

Texas didn't get any verbals on Jr. day to,
Well, they got a couple to,
Massive infighting as the Ags rip anyone who states that Texas is doing well or that Aggy would stoop so low as to offer players that aren't "SEC material".

Hell, you can even find threads that predate a Texas verbal where they want a guy, he verbals to Texas, then they claim that never wanted him.

6 of the top 100 players in the nation... not bad... but the Aggies did get 2... well maybe 1 if the WR doesn't qualify academically or grows to tall.

In the fall aggy will learn that none of their players are SEC good..........hell! aggy as a whole isn't SEC good....WAC or CUSA good maybe, but not B12 or SEC good.

According to MGoBlog, Christian LaCouture(offers from LSU and Mizzou) has decommitted from A&M. I guess he's not SEC good.

Sumlin is starting decommit season early.

This is a priceless observation from TexAgs on their first decommit:

"We were his spare tire. Not unusual for this to happen, except it is so early in the process."

I'll eagerly await football scores this fall to see how badly the ags get stomped with regularity.

I think we should post something each time a new recruit comes on board. It's funny looking at the comments after the first JD. If Ra'Shaad Samples commits soon, it will be another player that was at that Junior day who committed.

That school in BCS is no longer one of ours. It would not hurt my feelings if I never read a word about them on this board again.

I would have as much or more interest in what fans of Mary Hardin Baylor think about our recruits as fans of the farm college. They're just another team in the confederacy...and not even the best farm school. I think Auburn and 'Ole Miss State have the edge there.

One of the things I've enjoyed about this recruiting year is not so much the Schadenfreude. What this recruiting class has proved is that players don't commit to conferences, but to teams. Even in this re-alignment craziness, players don't just want to play with the best, they want to have more than a punchers chance of beating the best. Anyone who has played competitive sports at any level from Little League to the majors doesn't get joy out losing even if its from the best.

Also, it's hard to stop cold turkey and put aside 100 years of aggie jokes. While I've accepted A&M going to the SEC and have no ill will towards them, its hard to forget that their actions nearly destroyed our conference and created all the uncertainty. I thank Baylor for putting a stop(for now) to the madness and the ironic thing is that they could end up being more relevant to the Big XII than A&M will ever be in the SEC.
