Tenn job is now open too (edit - not Shiano)

They are as delusional as A&M. They have spent their entire time romancing Gruden, who I doubt could coach Allen or Southlake Carroll to a winning season. Emergency calls to Chip Kelly and Mullen. They have even been in touch with Leach. I said before and say again, "amateur hour". There are not five good ADs in this country.

Tee Martin is a logical choice, but so is Jeff Brohm, and then there is Scott Frost. STUPID!

RUMOR, unverified, possibly from troll, that Currie had Schiano sign an MOU two weeks ago including a $20 million buy. It is not known if the school will owe Schiano that or not.

Now the school has notified Schiano's agent that they are backing out of the MOU.

As a resident of Nashville, I am praying for the Pirate to come to Tennessee. The entertainment of his press conferences and his rivalry with fake army even though they don't play often would be classic.

Leach in that conference would be entertaning

Some media guy on Finebaum today said that Gundy met in Dallas with the Tennessee contingent about the Tenn opening. Good interview (seldom happens on that show), detailed why now might be the time for mullet to make his move. Not a done deal obviously

Hunter vest UT could (and has) done far worse than Gundy. It's not like he and T. Boone are tight pals either from what I understand. Personally, I think Mike Gundy would do very well at Tennessee and OSU might come to regret his departure. For a while.

The Finebaum show interview I saw today regarding this, made mention of the sorry state of affairs in Knoxville if yet another coach turned Tenn down. Vols are now officially in that sad state I suppose.

It'll be hard to build that program back to prominence. The job reminds me of a Nebraska SEC, in that there's no natural recruiting base. They have to find a couple of honey holes (states) so to speak, and recruit it to death and pick up some pieces hither and yon. When it works, it's gold. When it doesn't it's a huge climb back

Tennessee may be the biggest cluster in NCAA history, or since everyone that had ever dribbled a basketball turned down our job. The difference is that Tennessee hasn't been successful in football without major cheating including criminals (see Fulmer Cup).

Jimmy Haslam as managed to do to Tennessee what he did to the Browns. Something about this reminds me of Bum Bright & the Aggies.
