TDF Stage 3: 'A frightening stage'

I don't know. He, of course, is done as far as winning goes. However, he had some pretty bad luck. I still think that Lance feels that he could have won had he not had so many crashes.

I think Lance could have been a contender again but bad luck caught up with him such as the untimely flat and crashes. It makes one realize the luck he had to have had to have won 7 tours. Alberto sure looked tired in that race and I am not sure if it is because of his team or what. But we have a wide open tour right now even though Lance is out but hopefully can win a stage or two.

Yeah, after yesterday, Lance's days of terrorizing the tour opposition are over. Sad day in sports.
Sounds like Lance clipped his pedal on a curb at one of those places that has a traffic median in the road, where some go left and he went right. He went down going 30 mph, was injured, continued on, and spent all his energy catching back up to the main contender's group just as they made an acceleration up one of the steep Alps.
He couldn't match the pace at that point. Agonizing to watch.
I wanted to see if he could hang with the contenders through this stage, and wait for a chance later to make up time. It was still a longshot, but he seemed to be in better shape than last year.
This is Lance's thirteenth tour, and he has provided many great moments. Maybe he will still win a stage or two in this one, and lead Levi Leipheimer to some good results.
