TCU vs Oklahoma - the sequel

Baker Mayfield is a great college QB. He makes all the throws, he runs well enough, he reads the field. He just threw his 2nd TD in as many 2nd half possessions.

Question: Does Mayfield, the Heisman winner (I think), play in the bowl games or opt out to protect himself from injury, thus preserving his giant signing bonus and contract as the # 1 pick in the NFL draft.

If it were just a regular bowl game, probably not, but if they win this game, then yes, he absolutely will play--it's the CFB playoffs!

TCU is a very good team but OU is making them look average at best. It will take a miracle now for TCU to come back.

As much as I hate OU success, I hate the SEC/Alabama/tOSU bias. I am rooting for OU and Wisconsin today in order to keep those two teams out of the playoffs.

The SEC and ACC championship game winners make it in no matter who wins. If OU or Wisconsin lose, gives the committee a reason to put Alabama in.

I don't care what someone's record is, but how do you justify putting a non-conference winner into a playoff for the national championship? The conference championship is a mini-playoff in of itself. If you can't win your conference, you don't deserve a chance at the National Championship.
Looks like rest of the Big XII knows who their daddy is, has been, and will be for time to come.

TCU has a perfect opportunity to down a punt at the 1 yard line and flubs it into the endzone, summing up their afternoon perfectly.

Not so sure he'll be the no.1 draft pick. USC & ucla qbs both rated higher than him
He seems to be the odds on Heisman favorite. I have not heard he's rated any lower than 2 in the draft. But anything is possible. He seems to have all the tools needed to be successful at the next level.

I don't think Darnold is as accurate as Mayfield. But Darnold seems to be a much better guy. More classy and less likely to embarrass his team. He may have more of an upside as he is younger than Mayfield.

After the NFL went full in on the anthem protests and now with their planned support of social justice warriors, I would think that as long as Mayfield stands during the national anthem and avoids expletives, the class issue will be moot. Besides, as long as he avoids alcohol abuse and doesn't sexually harass anyone, he should be fine.

Game made me think of UT VS. ou. Spotted em 20 points, D buckeled down and O grinded, rallied to take 23-20 lead mid 4th. Brandon Jones mistake gave Mayfield 7 easy points - Horns couldnt answer. Horns only gave up 29 points to the land thieves... lot of stupid penalties in that game as I recall.

Injury and payout on the insurance would beat going to Cleveland.
