Who was behind the plate for that game by Padilla?

Maybe T is what the Rangers staff needs to lead them to some better ERA? T has the makeup and the determination to be a star in the show.

Hopefully he will get more and more opportunity to show it either here or as trade bait to Boston or somewhere else. It'd be nice for him to steal the show here in big D though.(Arlington)

1. Anyone who thinks TT should be the Rangers starting catcher right now just has no clue, period.
2. My Salty bashing is sort of in a joking manner. I know he is young and deserves more time but the guy just hasn't met expectations this year. Is that partly my fault due to setting expectations too high? Perhaps but that doesn't mean he should get a free pass.

Watch him hit against lefties. He's behind every single fastball I've seen hitting right-handed and that is just a bad trend.

3. I'm fine with the Laird/Salty combo right now with TT in AAA and Max in AA for the rest of the year. We have a really GOOD problem with our catching talent. I just want to make sure we cash in on it.

wooh. that's not nice.

He's progressed up the professional ranks, just made the US Olympic team and knocked in the only run in a 1-0 game, only his 2nd in the Majors. Back-off dude.

Maybe .240 isn't great but he ended the perfect game of an all-star pitcher, when the other 9 guys on an MLB team couldn't.

Kid doesn't have to light the world on fire this young to be an all-star in the near furture. If nothing else he showed that he can have a really big upside.

Are you Salty's girlfriend or something? Dude's got a .671 OPS in a hitter's park. That's Brad Ausmus level offense right there.

everyone calm the f down. we have 4 catchers and you could make an argument that all could be the catcher of the future but there can only be one. this is a good problem to have. for whatever reasons, we have a favorite and that should be ok with everyone else.

salty hasn't been lighting up the world but he's got a great arm, he's shown power potential and switch hits.

teagarden is probably the best pure catcher. if he hits he will be in the bigs for 10+ years

m ramirez has better offense than teagarden but probably not as good defense (i would imagine most agree with that)

laird has the most experience at the ML level. while laird is playing well this year, he was one of the worst players in the bigs last year.

It definitely needs to be posted that in today's game Salty has struck out and thrown a ball in CF when a guy was stealing.
