I'll keep an eye out for this during the next two weeks. It'll be interesting to see what changes, if any, occur. That was a choice to cover a weakness somewhere else; so until that other weakness is cured this is going to be exploited.

Thompson's blown cover for a TD didn't help.Previous poster mentioned it. LB Gbenda got sucked inside / didnt defend his lane and Cajun RB had a huge hole for a TD. I was yelling at my big screen!
I thought after the game that probably was the single biggest mistake the D made all game.
As stated, hope he learns from that....
I liked the fact that holding calls against the o-line didn’t mean an automatic punt. (They over came this multiple times.) Also liked the fact that the receivers were past the first down marker on third downs when they needed a first. Plus It was nice having a coach who didn’t seem like a liability….
Every coach in the big XII will have noted that Texas gave the pass to the RB in the flat to ULaLa. The closest Texas defender was always 2 to 3 yards off the receiver. What saved Texas was the tackles were sure (which shows improved fundamentals), but giving 4 to 5 yards to Big XII offenses will lead to long and disappointing afternoons.
I've heard in the past that Pete's philosophy has always been to give underneath stuff and tighten up closer to the end zone. We'll see if that bears out.
Arkansas might be tougher, but I wouldn't say they "should". They've been awful for the past 4 years (11-35 record) and probably would lose to La-Lafayette.
We have top 10 talent.
Agree HIC. That thinking usually doesn't work in the Big XII. If Coach K can pull it off he should win Assistant Coach of the Century.
I've never understood that. It would be like me seeing a thunderstorm 100 miles out and waiting until I'm 10 miles from it to do something. Or, at least, that's the best analogy I could come up with lol.
The Orange Kool-Aide Scale. On what scale?
That group was big. Maybe they were as good as advertised? This is my biggest concern. The DL was supposed to be the best unit on the team, but they did not get any kind of consistent pressure on the ULL QB.
I have NO (!) idea what you’re talking about. None. Really.I resemble that remark. I have a lot of relatives in Louisiana and back in the day some very hot cousins. Ah what memories.![]()
If we play bend don't break defense then OU will eat us alive underneath.Agree HIC. That thinking usually doesn't work in the Big XII. If Coach K can pull it off he should win Assistant Coach of the Century.
Someone made an Arkie inbreeding joke. He apparently reminisced about it with cousins from Louisiana.I have NO (!) idea what you’re talking about. None. Really.
Thanks but…I understood exactly when he was saying. I had a cousin…Someone made an Arkie inbreeding joke. He apparently reminisced about it with cousins from Louisiana.
Over the last 10 years or so, too often it has been something like OU 14 or 21 and Texas 0… before everyone has found their seats. If we play bend don't break defense then OU will eat us alive underneath.
FWIW, I am being told that CFB Numbers rated Card #2 among all Power Five conference QBs for last week. (I couldn’t fine the article but my source is very solid.)Enough that Southwest Airlines couldn't carry them all. Maybe I couldn't see from the West Side lower deck as well as you could on TV. Color me unimpressed and worried.
I just got home and haven't watched recording yet, but I posted on here several times my concern about the South end debacle and the wind whipping around there like it does at Rice Stadium. at the time, I thought that's what happened to the kick. I reiterate, Sark needs those kickers practicing with that wind every damn day.

Part of me kept thinking "Why is everybody talking Card up based on his numbers because they're not exactly eye-catching,"
Whatever you say, Herman would have lost this game and given up 150 yards on the ground.
And would have abandoned the run game.THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Casey needs to back it up with sterling preparation and leadership. His carefree attitude may be fine for a backup, but not the starter. It shows in the interceptions during scrimmages, if those rumors are true.Reading in Orangebloods’ War Room that Sark’s two big frustrations right now are the O-line and Casey Thompson. O-line is obvious. Apparently he’s really concerned about the possibility that Casey will transfer before season is over. That doesn’t seem like a smart move to me, but who knows. Casey apparently told him in training camp that he wouldn’t back up Hudson Card.
