Looking for a cool bar to host a party of about 30-40 people. Anyone who's been here think this is a good place to do it? Do they have a patio area at all?
 
they do not have a patio area, but Tambaleo is a very cool bar. A couple of Texas Exes own it. What time are you looking to do the party...weekend night, week night, happy hour?
 
They have a smaller "private room" that could be used, however the place itself is pretty large and could provide ample space for 30-40. Friday at 8-ish the place isn't packed, so your party would pretty much have the whole place til about 10.

They can also bring food in
 
I live in the apt. complex across the street from it but have never been. What's the crowd like....yuppie, college age, thirtysomething's?

I like it. Can't replace the Electric Lounge, but it's pretty cool. My wife and I went there at 8 on Saturday before going to another function, and it was just us and the bartender. Very cool guy. We went back later around 11 and it was more crowded, but not packed. Liked the staff, crowd seemed pretty mixed, not too much of any one type.
 
i like it 'cause when they showed the NBA playoffs, they had a massive screen but no crowd, so we could get tables infront of the screen! as opposed to the heavy crowds at most other sports bars. but that will probably change as more people start going there.
