Did they "back out"? Yes.
But in the same way that they face FOUR OF THE FIVE current SEC teams in the Top 10, to include 3 in four weeks plus Texas, next year is even more brutal for the Hogs.
This year it's Texas, Auburn, Florida, Bama, and LSU (which is ridiculous and unprecedented). Next year it would have been Georgia, at Auburn, at Bama, at LSU, at Florida, A&M neutral, and Texas at home. Again, not even kids on Xbox or PS3 set themselves up with that load. Texas wouldn't dare, nor would anyone else.
So, someone had to go. If Arkansas wanted to dick Texas, they would have backed out this year, not one of their own home games.
Why A&M? Because like it or not, a 5 million dollar payday at Jerry World, every year for ten years, far far far outweighs playing Texas in Fayetteville once. Why not play them both you ask? Because no one does that. No one takes on that schedule. No one. Period.
