Whoever this Borzi person is? Now my arch-enemy. Never pick against the Horns!
Patrick BorziLooks like Borzi has a little West Coast bias as he/she also picked Stanford to upset Louisville.
Ahhh, it was all tongue-in-cheek at the "disrespect" shown. The only teams I've seen play were UConn and the Bears....so what do I know?Patrick Borzi

Is ND really that good given all the injuries they are dealing with?
If Cedar Ridge’s Higgs was the No. 1 girls basketball player in the area back in 2015, then Vista Ridge’s Japreece Dean was 1B. Both were members of that year’s All-Central Texas team; Higgs led Cedar Ridge to a 30-3 record her senior year while Dean went 133-17 in her Vista Ridge career....“The thing that struck me about Japreece is how competitive she is,” Aston said. “...“Lashann and Japreece are different. Japreece is a point guard who is playing off the ball right now because of (All-America point guard candidate) Jordin (Canada). Lashann is a scoring guard and combo who is the most comfortable at the wing position where she is now.”
http://www.kansascity.com/sports/college/ncaa/article206436959.htmlThe Bruins have accomplished some great things in the past few years. And on paper, their matchup with Texas is about as even as any remaining in the women’s tournament.
UCLA is looking for its first Elite Eight appearance since 1999.
There is a familiarity in the environment for the Longhorns, but they also know the Bruins very well. The two teams have met multiple times in the past three seasons and scrimmage together during the preseason....Japreece Dean, a junior guard for UCLA, is from Austin and started her career at Texas Tech....Many Texas players are very familiar with her, and junior guard Lashann Higgs is excited to play against her.... “I would say that we did not really play against each other much, but we worked out a lot together and I just know how competitive she is.
"I just think the game will be fun knowing we both worked hard to be at this point. I think it will be a very good game.”
Statistically against the 15 other teams. As teams are eliminated the percentages will change. If I'm reading it right, Nate Silver gives us a 1% chance of winning the National Championship. Man, we ain't getting no respect at all. We'll have to prove him wrong.
family time is really important. Have fun at the Stars game.Talk about bad timing. My daughter and I are going to Stars game tomorrow. Ya’ll pull the Horns through. I hope to watch the replay win when I get home. Hook ‘Em
They’ve had injuries but almost every player that’s healthy was a highly touted recruit. Every player on their starting five could realistically start for any team in the country. They are amazingly good, considering the injuries. Muffin must be one hell of a coach and personnel recruiter, because despite all those injuries, ND is still one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the country. She always has shooters and scorers, year after year, and they always do well.
Yes, like us, they do have highly recruited players (although not as many McDonalds All Americans as we do), BUT Muffet McGraw is one of the very best coaches in the game and is an absolute genius in her approach and half court offensive philosophy. Their half court offensive sets and ball movement are a thing of beauty. That is coaching. Muffet is hands down one of the top 3 coaches in the game today!!!They’ve had injuries but almost every player that’s healthy was a highly touted recruit. Every player on their starting five could realistically start for any team in the country.
Texas had just been named as a No. 2 seed in the Kansas City Regional. Sutton grew up 250 miles east in St. Louis. To make the Sweet 16 would mean playing in front of family, friends and likely a former teammate.
Of course, she had to make it there first.
Sutton wanted to do everything she could to ensure the Longhorns reached the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament. Sutton comes off the bench, though, and it seemed like her opportunities would be limited at first.
“I mean, the rotation trims in tournament play. I think that’s a realistic statement,” Texas head coach Karen Aston said on March 16, before the Longhorns’ first round matchup with 15-seeded Maine. “I think the bigger key is just getting everybody prepared, even if it’s a minute or two.”
The sophomore guard and the rest of Texas’ reserves were determined to change Aston’s mind. In the first two rounds of March Madness, the Longhorns are averaging 20 bench points per game, up from 15.3 per game during the Big 12 Tournament. Aston subbed in six reserves in both victories.
