Sweet 16 Elite 8 games

well, duke got 40 pts on two FTs in the last 15 seconds. otherwise, i'm not sure they would have gotten there. other than moore's quest to hit 3000 pts, not much to keep one interested in the game.
 
excellent start by aggy but adams with a silly foul for her second. she's sitting with 12 minutes to go. griner is not hitting her shots nor is another else for baylor other than melissa jones. still, lady bears have 12 minutes to make a run without facing adams.
 
lot of shots left short by baylor. but adams has two fouls and gilbert just picked up her third. if griner wasn't having such a poor shooting night so far, baylor would be leading. sydney carter is having an awesome first half for a&m.
 
I'm sure Mulkey will get them calmed down at halftime. Should be a great second half, with a close finish...as usual.
 
don't know. baylor is still not really hitting their shots. griner is out of it, missing fgs and fts. a&m is really playing well, especially since they are getting squat from adams offensively. i don't think she has scored yet.
 
yep, ags up by 15 and adams hasn't scored a point. that's not something i expected. gonna be an interesting final 14 mins. you would expect adams to score some points sooner or later.
 
I haven't seen BU play so bad all season. Also haven't seen the Aggies play so well. Wow! Baylor with only 28 points with 11 mins. left????!!

well, baylor has two more years to win a national championship with griner. sydney carter played an amazing game for a&m. i'm glad the big 12 will have a team in the final four.
 
This is what I expected. I still believe someone on the committee had it in for Baylor in setting up the bracket. It isn't likely that a team can beat another team 4 times in a season when they are this close. Baylor choked badly, and I don't think Kim coached it well. No matter how important Griner is to the team, you've got to try to involve everyone. Baylor looked scared and slow. Melissa Jones is the only player who kept her head. She should have been used more. A&M had a great game plan and executed it well. Carter's first half won the game for them. I hope A&M can play with Stanford and that they don't play scared next weekend.

Yeah, and I do not feel so bad about losing to this Final 4...

They are terrific...won't win the NC, but they have earned this trip to Indy...

But, but, but, BBV you KNOW there has to be SOME explanation for the precious Bellar losing! (other than the fact that they SUCKED it tonight!) Excuses, excuses! A&M just whooped up on 'em plain & simple.
 
i believe the organizers of the tourney actually came out and said that they put A&M and baylor in the same bracket because they wanted to boost ratings/attendance if both teams made it to the regional final. they figured it would be a huge draw, which it was.

fantastic game last night. blair is a class act and deserves the success he's had.
 
Wow. I wasn’t sure that aggy had that game in them. I kept thinking that they would beat Baylor, but after the three previous games I didn’t expect it to happen last night.

That is the way to beat Baylor. Harass the guards and make the entry pass to the post difficult. I don’t like aTm, but I do respect the way they play defense.

I was traveling and missed the first half of the game. But, it seemed like BG got frustrated and started to attempt things that are not her strength. It seemed like she was putting the ball on the floor too often, and forcing shots when in the past she would have found someone else who was open and kicked it back out. Give credit to aggy for making it difficult.

I heard there were some comments from Blair at halftime about the officiating. I’m curious what those of you who saw the whole game thought about how it was called.

I’m glad aggy won. But Baylor losing allowed my daughter to move ahead of me in the bracket challenge. Just gives me one more reason to dislike the bears.
 
We didn't beat Baylor this year....that was last year, and we didn't have Hartung last year...she's a freshman, BAB...

or maybe I misunderstood?
