i went there friday night for their sushi happy hour. first off, this place is on that part of i-35 north of 290W that has become a black hole for restaurants. when i went, there were only eight people which is horrible. the food, on the other hand, was quite excellent. sure, it wasn't up to par with uchi and musashino, but it did come close and at the 50% sushi happy hour it was exquisite. i spent $18, but that was including an eel roll, spicy tuna roll, hot night roll (shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocados, spicy mayo), and sake... oh and tip. i highly recommend it. another great thing about the happy hour is that it's from 4-7pm, 7 days a week.

That location is death to businesses so it would be nice to be able to help somebody out. That is a nice long happy hour and cool it is all week long. Nice. It is also nice that you tipped the waitstaff. What a nice guy.

I think you should try to get people to go there, not scare them away. Build the ambience factor.

I heard it was ok as well, but I still dont want to miss out on Uchi. Am I a snob, yes. Screw you.
Oh, that and one of the waitresses watched me have sex with her friend so that is a little weird. Carry on.
 
crayon, have you been to maiko yet? i've heard reports from uchi frequenters they have a new place in mind.

I havent tried Maiko yet... maybe I'll go next week.

when you say suchi, do you mean going to uchi or sushi japon?

no one followed up. if i could actually get to the place before 7:00, i would do it everyday. unfortunately, i am on campus until 6 and no way can i get anywhere in a small amount of time without car.
 
Run or ride a horse the way they did it back in the day. Youth today. That damned indy rock and roll.
 
Hey, I'm in. I really liked it when I was there a couple of weeks ago, but I don't know what to order most of the time because I'm stupid and never eat sushi. This way I'd be enlightened.
