Super Bowl LII

Brady: drops sure TD pass, fumbles on most critical play of game=MVP no matter the outcome? Do I live in bizarre-o world?

Brady didn't drop the pass it was off his fingertips and I don't believe he would have scored but he certainly would have made good yardage. I think he should have jumped and attempted to catch the ball with one hand giving him more height to catch it but then again he is not a receiver. And Brady didn't goof on his fumble it was an entirely good play by the defense. The o-lineman should have done a better job of blocking the rusher.

Is there another high school in Texas with two Super Bowl winning quarterbacks?
Westlake: Drew Brees, Nick Foles

Is there another high school even in the country... with two (or more) Super Bowl winning QBs? May be hard to find a high school with 2 or more QBs just playing in a SB.

Interesting that the two QBs from Westlake did not attend (were never offered?) by Texas.

Don't forget Tucker. He wasn't MVP, but he was a BIG reason Baltimore won.

Both Peyton and Eli Manning played for Isidore Newman in New Orleans. That said, Westlake has now produced as many Super Bowl winning quarterbacks as Notre Dame (Joe Montana and Joe Theismann).

Leaving aside some of the colorful imagery, this pretty well nails the issue with the NFL and how they actually avoided a lot of it last night:

"For nearly a decade, the NFL has conspired to murder itself with arcane bureaucracy and endless replay stoppages in which every last bit of excitement is suckled out of the thrilling play that you, the viewer, just watched. I am now conditioned to expect the worst. I always have a “but…” in my back pocket. I am now, at all times, ready for a ref to take his headset off and deliver a ruling that will make me want to uppercut a brick wall. The game has turned ME into a ref, coldly looking at a fantastic display of athleticism and quietly thinking to myself, “Well he caught it but he didn’t catch it ENOUGH.”"

If either had been offered and chosen to accept to attend The University, I would dare say that Drew would be practicing law with his Uncle Marty and Aunt Pam, and Foles would likely be in marketing for some Austin tech firm or fronting for one of Red's car dealerships.

Similarly, that is why I told UVA coaches not to offer Drew. I knew that Tom O'Brine was incapable of developing a QB.

I hate both teams but was glad NE lost. I hate Tom Brady and was glad the loss was on his turn over. I was glad for Foles. His little baby girl was so cute. My favorite commercial was the NY Giants Dirty Dancing commercial. Of course I am a girl and I grew up in the 80's and early 90's.

Brady short armed the catch. He didn't fully reach for the pass which allowed it to go off his fingers. Still...he might have gained ~10 yards before running out of bounds. That drive led to a FG, right?
