Maybe most of you have reasons for hating the Giants, but I do think the Giants will play the Patriots better than the Packers would have.
Name a single Packer upset playoff victory during Favre's career. Um . . . gee . . er. . . well . . . Now think back to great GB playoff performances of the past 10 years.
Asses kicked by the Vikings as Favre throws 4 INT at home in the wild card game three years ago.
The 4th and 26 conversion by the Eagles 4 years ago. Packers were up 14-0 in first quarter. Managed a field goal the rest of the game. Favre threw INT in overtime that led to winning fg by Eagles. Favre 6-12 for 67 yards and INT in second half and OT.
The egg laid against the Falcons in 2003. At home and crushed 27-7. Favre 20-42 for 247 and 2 INT.
The Brett Favre INT fest against the Rams in 2002. Six INT. Who cares what else happened?
Packer loss to 49ers in 1999. Favre 20-35 with 2 INT. Favre led GB on nice drive late to go up 27-23 before SF came back with the T.O. touchdown, but Favre did force a couple of balls for the interceptions in the second half.
'98 Super Bowl. Packers favored by a gazillion to extend NFC streak to 150 or whatever it was. Favre misses WIDE OPEN Freeman with Packers in Denver territory in fourth quarter and going for their first lead since they were up 7-0.
The point? Favre has not been a big playoff performer for 10 years. Yet we would have had the Favre lovefest while the Patriot receivers would have totally abused the GB secondary.
I think the Packers would have gone down in flames, something like 49-3 with Favre throwing 5 INT.
And I'm a Packer fan.
No, really. My dad was a big Johnny Unitas fan and was severely disappointed that I grew up rooting for the Packers, even through the Jerry Tagge years and the awfulness that was the Packers in the 80s.
