Store with variety of beers

I've had modelo before and liked it. I tend to buy random stuff every time I go, this time just didn't work out.

I second both the Negro Modelo and Boddington's suggestions. Both really good. Newcastle's another excellent choice. Try the Alaska Pale Ale from Central Market if you like the hoppy stuff. And Pronto's has a pretty good selection too for such a small gas station--on 43rd and Duval across from Hyde Park Bar&Grill.

If you are willing to give the IPA’s another try…

give Flying Dog IPA a go- It is a beer created (in part) by Hunter S. Thompson (brewed in Colorado)- and features artwork by Ralph Steadman on the bottle. I am not a huge fan of IPAs, but this one is fantastic!

I tried two more beers this past weekend. The first was Lagunitas IPA. I was not too impressed with this one. The other was McEwan's Scotch Ale. I really liked this one.

Well, over the past week I got to try two more beers. The first was the Buffalo Bill's Pumpkin Ale. I must say that whoever said it tasted like Pumpkin Pie was right on. This beer was great. I just bought a single from the Whip In, but I will have to go back and get some more. The other beer was Belhaven St. Andrews Ale. This beer was nothing special, but wasn't bad.

So the Pumpkin Ale is back out, I am going to have to go out and get a six pack of that stuff. Surprised you didn't like the Lagunitas IPA, I like it. Maybe it tastes better on tap than in the bottle.

If you want to see how refined your palate has become, get some Arrogant Bastard Ale and see what you think. That beer has all kinds of things going on with it, and they are all great!

Well, I went to the Dog and Duck Pub on Saturday and was impressed with how many beers they had on tap. I would guess they had around 35 or so, which may not be a ton compared to some places. However, it was a ton compared to the bars on 6th. Had some Belhaven Scottish Ale, which was really good. One of the people I was with had some Old Speckled Hen, which I was not so crazy about.
