Stomping on the W? (and other thoughts)

Since when did your hoops team turn into a team that stomps on the opponent's center court to celebrate a win? C'mon, that is not the Barnes' team I am used to...........I thought I was watching the post-game to a Louiseville FB game.

Nonetheless, good game tonight.

I was very disappointed with some of Bo's lineups (Kevin Gullikson should not be playing minutes against a Top 10 team) but y'all showed some heart and grit pulling out that win on our homecourt.

Contrary some around here, I didn't see a No. 1 seed out there, nor did I see a team that 'sucked'......I think this Horns team is presently at a 3 seed level with a good chance to go to the second weekend.

That said, the Big 12 is atrocious this year, so I could definitely see the Horns winning the conference and gettting a higher seed.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Hope Barry and DeLoss schedule some more matchups b/t us. This was a fun home-and-home. Let's get one on the gridiron next.

I also hope they continue this series. Both games have been incredibly close and hard fought. I think both teams learn alot from each other and make each other better for the rest of the season.

It was a sorry display. Like someone else said, maybe something happened last year in Austin. If so, it is still not excusable.

Stomping on the W is stupid. Leave that crap to someone else. I also wonder if there's something that goes back to last year's game. That kind of demonstration is not in character with this team or a Barnes coached team at all.

Didn't see a lot of trash talking in the game, but I believe it was Hughes that said something to AJ when he went to the FT line for the 1 and 1 with six seconds left and AJ's response was like, "we'll see".

I don't recall anything happening last year. If anything, I remember the Badgers exiting the court rather quickly. I'm holding out for an innocent explanation as it would be out of character for a Barnes team to do that and I didn't see anything that would provoke it. And finally.....the post game hand shakes were pretty cordial....had it been directed at the W logo I think we would have seen something.

On the positive side.....it was nice to watch 40 minutes of Horn basketball and not see one Horns down by some loser fan. Well played Wisconsin.

If you look closely you'll see that they were killing a spider that had run onto the court.

Poor sportsmanship - that was not cool. I wondered if it was just a careless moment or if they did it because W players did it to Bevo last year when the Badgers won in Austin. Regardless, it was classless.

Retribution for a center court stomp by the Badgers after last year.

Not classy either way, but there is some history. We should have just walked out with the W and let that be enough.

ah, hell, they stomped on the Horn at the FEC last year. well, then, Damion and Balbay should have whipped it out and peed on the W.

The Badgers did not stomp last year at the Drum and have never stomped under Bo (or Bennett).

There was a celebration near the bench and then everyone jetted to the lockerroom.

That was hardly "stomping" on the W. They were doing some kind of dance but it wasn't like they got in a big huddle on the W and started jumping up and down and making a spectacle.

Secondly, this happened quite a while after the end of the game and ESPN had no business showing that. I am sure there will be an explanation considering Barnes looked mad and went to Bo and said something, probably an apology.

The team SHOULD HAVE stomped on the ref door considering the atrocity of officiating in that game. Don't get me wrong, we deserved a lot of calls, but there were some unbelievable critical calls that were atrocious.

Very good win, I will say that. 113-7 before the game at home and 113-8 after. That is a GREAT home court advantage and it is a big deal to win there.

if they did "stomp" on the w, then that is unacceptable, i expect RB to have a word with them about that, he has always been pretty good about keeping players maintained

They werent jumping on the W.....They were grinding it into the ground. Pretty original actually although still classless.

The made FT's were amazing. Gary Johnson continues to deserve the f'n.

Balbay was with the team last year sitting on the bench with his injury. Basically a red shirt year (but they changed that so he did not have to sit out 10 games this year). Regardless, he was with the team and lived and died with every win and loss just like the other guys (probably worse because he could not play and contribute).

And I clearly remember the post-game antics of the Badgers last year. These are 20 year old kids that have a lot of pride. I do not blame them for anything they did to pay back the Badgers for the heart breaker last year and subsequent rubbing it in.

It was a great win last night but we are more classy than that. I am sure Coach Barnes will correct that most unusual behavior. Remember WE ARE TEXAS - NOT MIAMI.
