State Immigration Laws

As someone who believes in the Constitution, I think this is a matter for the federal govt. But activist state legislatures like to think otherwise.

While that sentiment sounds nice, and should be unassailable, it conveniently ignores the fact the federal gov't has largely ignored their responsibility. They only attempted "immigration reform" recently because both sides of the debate are pushing them to do more.

Regardless if the federal govt enforces their laws or not, its their realm. Vote in new federal congressmen and President.

If you don't like the law, change it with in the legal framework. We do have a country that allows that.

There should be more state/federal cooperation on issues like immigration. Let states or even municipalities pay for federal support or even federal representatives to help them enforce the law. That is the answer to help the feds do their job. It sucks that it is necessary but it clearly is.

Fine, so let federal government representatives call the shots, paid by the state and municipalities who feel their current federal enforcement is not up to speed. (even the old deputizing of people throughout history would seem to fit this type case)

Enforce the law, it really is that simple whether the feds handle it all themselves or there is cooperation with state and municipal workers guided by federal management. It really makes sense and fills in the loophole nicely.(the loophole that those in favor of open borders and lawlessness seem to want to continually flaunt)
