Spring Ball

But you did and did.
Wow...It really must be a slow spring. To give you guys something else to do I wrote a one act play for your entertainment...

This play is dedicated to the presumptuous, the morally superior, the easily offended, the bored and the trigger- happy.

THOUGHT POLICE

{As a burnt orange sun rises over the outskirts of an otherwise peaceful Central Texas town}

RainH2burntO: Don't shoot...I'm unarmed.
Sheriff Moondog: BANG!!!
Posse: Hooray!...You got 'em boss.
RainH2burntO: [lays dying with a look of shock and disbelief] But...I was...just..tryin..g..to.......

I just found it amusing that before you mentioned and bashed somebody you stated you hated mentioning and bashing that person.
Guess I shoulda used a smiley face. ;)

I'm sorry, Moondog. Maybe I'm the one who read too much into your post. I still need to learn the nuances of some of the poster's "personalities"... and them mine.
For me, I took offense, as I try to be very fair, gracious and thoughtful towards others (Charlie Strong included) and felt my post(and maybe myself) were unfairly judged. I understand better now...Thanks.
I did consider your words and thought about my intent. I believe I was being genuine/sincere in saying basically I wasn't going out of my way to bash the man...he has taken plenty of heat in the past. It was an honest thought on my part as it relates to football and the journey we've all been on the last couple years trying to see this program transition into a better-run, better-performing one. I do understand your point, but I just didn't think it applied based on my intent/heart (though you can't know that and that's why words are important).
I have to be responsible for my words, and I should have said:
" I am hesitant to bring this up because he has already taken so much heat....".
(Or, if I feel like this would add to the fire, not said it at all)
Ultimately, I just feel bad if anyone took me to be being malicious, intellectually dishonest, or disingenuous.
Thanks for your kind clarification.
Hope you liked the play!
;)

I post plenty of stupid ****.
Feel free to call me out. :) :hookem::bevo:

I vote we have a virtual re-enactment of the 2005 season, including preseason hype discussions and speculations, weekly complaints about not scoring enough points and why VY isn't getting love from the media, bipolar gameday threads, and of course, a re-enactment of the legendary celebration of USC as the greatest force in the history of organized athletics.

This isn't Shaggy or Surly, but it's the internet and your opinions can make you a target. I hope you keep posting and don't worry about a little good natured blowback. Like rowdy fans, it's part of the show.

I'll add that Sam will have to try pretty hard to lose it.
And that's not a knock against Buechelle. More against coaches who can only gameplan for specific skillsets.

Agree, it is prolly Sam's to lose at this point.

Spring game should be interesting. Sam will prolly lead 1st team O vs. 2nd team D and Shane will prolly lead 2nd team O vs. 1st team D. Of course it will be a controlled scrimmage & the QB's will be protected BUT Shane will have a real challenge moving his O vs. Orlando's 1st team D.

i wonder if they split. it's coach's scrimmage. maybe he changes it up to get both with the 1s?

Problem with Sam is he violates Herman's no-turnover-thinking-making TD's edict. He is a critical situation turnover machine whose non-thinking served him well in high school, but not so much on the field in 2017. Every QB since Colt has had trouble in the TD area so that part of the equation is probably a wash. Unless Rising shows something really special during the remainder of Spring through the start of Fall practice, Herman might not have a clear number 1. This would mean he will run out Sam with the shortest of shortest leash.
Of course, who is QB is only one part of the equation. The OL will be better, but how much better? The play calling will be worked out even if it falls to Herman. However, the receiver issues have to be corrected if any of the QB's are to succeed. The TE's have to stay on the field, and the wideouts have to learn their position and CATCH the damn ball.

I'm convinced it won't matter who starts because I think he'll roatae them again this year. Starter is just the person who takes the first series of snaps.

No QB is going to be effective w/o an OL and we haven't had an OL since Colt was here either. Can't always blame the QB's although Colt was one of the best at dealing with a poor OL with his ability to get rid of the ball quickly and his escapability.

What a great idea!!! Sam is right handed and Buechelle is left handed. If we split both QB’s and spliced them together, the defense won’t know which hand from which the ball will be thrown from. Genius!

The OL will be better, but how much better?

The other day Herman was quoted as saying something to the effect: the current OL play is night and day better than last spring..... AND you got transfer stud LT Calvin Anderson coming to campus in June and stepping on the field in August!

The future seems bright for the OL.

I can't remember if it was spring or fall camp last season, but Herman said ours was the best OL he had worked with since Ohio States championship year.
So, there's that.

I say tap the breaks. I’m as excited as anyone but will reserve judgment until I see what we put on the field September 1st at FedEx Field. Until then it’s all hype and speculation.
