Hey y'all,

Starting at 8:40 a.m. tomorrow morning (Wednesday, May 28th), I'm going to be doing a weekly radio segment on AM 1530 (ESPN Austin).

"Sports Justice" (working title) will focus on legal issues in sports. Roger Clemens, Miguel Tejada, Cedric Benson, and Spygate are sure to be in the rotation. As a lawyer and former sportscaster, I hope to make the segments both informative and entertaining.

Please tune in or listen live at espnaustin.com. I'd love your feedback, and if you have sports/law questions you'd like me to answer on the air, post them here or send me a PM.

Thanks, Drew

I'm pretty sure that baseball players pay state income tax on their pro-rata share of income earned in that state -- that is, by playing a ball game in that state. What if they have signing bonuses, endorsement money, etc.?

I will not be able to listen at that time, so will there be a replay on espnaustin.com?

Will there ever be another "Death Penalty" by the NCAA?

Do "big time programs" get off easier with NCAA infractions than smaller programs?

Look forward to the show.

What constitutes a "booster" in the eyes of the NCAA and to what extent is a violation? Can a friend of an athlete buy them lunch if they have no money, forgot wallet? If that student is a roomate of theirs and buys season tickets to get better seats, is he a booster? What are the grey areas?

Your show sounds interesting due to the concept and because of who is doing it.

yeah...the leinert story with the roommate that received "improper" benefits in the form of discounted rent...where is that line drawn?

Thanks guys, looks like I'm going to be on again tomorrow at 6:45 for more Clemens.

Seems like lots of people want to know about NCAA violations... I will see if I can answer that on the air soon.

Is there some other way to listen to your show? I live in Temple and I am at work at 8:40 a.m. I cannot pick up 1530 on my radio, and we are not allowed to stream audio at work.

Are there going to be written transcrpts available for those of us who are interested but cannot listen live?

Texanne, right now those are the only options. I am going to try to get mp3s of the segments and upload them to either the espnaustin site or maybe my own website. Stay tuned.
