Something Interesting Thread

The study of the human glycome will be as important as the study of the human genome. Our cells are composed sets of carbohydrates that are unique to each of us. High percentages of the weight of our cells are carbohydrates but until recently their function was a mystery. Turns out their function effects a wide range of disease. This new field has nothing to do with the carbohydrates one consumes as food. you may contact me if it’s allowed. Sadly the land thieves are way ahead of us and I’m trying to do something about it.
I don't think Dion is allowed to contact you without getting in
trouble from the administrator of this website.

I see..should an administrator pass along my email it’s OK with me.
It was a joke from @Sangre Naranjada ... anyone here can do a Private Message (called a Conversation on this forum) to another member.

More about Conversations at this FAQ page: hornfans.com/faq/#pm

I am the admin and I never give out anyone’s email for any reason. If members want to exchange their personal info I recommended doing that in a Conversation, which is private.

OU is out-researching UT? That's a new one for most any field of study.

Fascinating stuff. I hope you and the other researchers discover some ground-breaking knowledge.

Well Harvard. Emory, University of Georgia. and Stanford already have glycobiology centers up and going, as well as the land thieves.

Do we have something in the works for the study of Glycobiology?

No. Due to a recruiting miss 20 years ago, OU won..we lost. I’m not a biologist but I’m very close to the recruit.

Gylcomer,

If The University enters this "race", would it likely be under the "management" of Catholic Healthcare Incompetence?

The superior intelligence running the system turned MD Anderson & St Luke's Houston over to Catholic Healthcare Incompetence out of Denver. Like everything else they have touched, they immediately ran both into the ground. I have said for years, "Those morons in Denver couldn't take a small-town McDonald's in nowhere Iowa if it was the only food place for 100 miles around and turn a profit." They lost a billion dollars the year after taking over the Houston facilities.

Any research project turned over to them is a total waste of money.

I see. I’ve been out of touch in Massachusetts. Now I’m back and on this very public UT Glycoscience Center Creation Campaign. It’s a new emerging field of medicine and there are few movers and shakers. I hope the Regents can utilize the transfer portal, create a Glycoscience Center and avoid the Colorado Catholic incompetence

Just found out from Ancestry.com that I am a descendent of Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar Alford 1823 - 1904.

Thinking about changing from utahorn to Emperor. :smile1:

I had heard family stories that we were descended from David Crockett. A couple of years ago on Ancestry.com I found that my grandfather's great grandfather was Patterson Crockett, Davy's older brother by a couple of years. Even though he was killed at the Alamo, David outlived Patterson and his own twin sister.

As If Nothing Happened

instagram

Alper Yesiltas, a lawyer and photographer living in Istanbul, Turkey, has created an AI-based project called “As if nothing happened.” Behind this project lies the question of “how would people look photo-realistically if some great events had not happened to them.”
