Something I almost wish would happen

Finally, something we can agree on -- the position this article describes is ridiculous and disgusting.

I'm not surprised. Though I don't particularly care about this sort of thing, the interesting irony is that if we're going to appoint a justice who "add to diversity on a court that still fails to represent the richness we see in our communities," the ideal pick would be protestant, white female. Women are underrepresented on the Court, and there isn't a single protestant. Kennedy, Roberts, Alito, Thomas and Sotomayor are all Catholics (as was Scalia), and Breyer, Ginsburg, and Kagan are all Jewish.

When the left repeatedly calls for "diversity" in any hiring environment, what they really want is more of the people they have stereotyped as those who will vote for Dems.

Nah, they are trying to right a perceived wrong. The problem is, there is no clear definition of when the wrong has been righted.

Some are trying to right a wrong, and some have a me nefarious agenda. Either way, I've never understood how intentionally wronging someone who had nothing to do with the perceived wrong serves the interests of justice or rights a wrong.

Not saying I agree with it but the continuation of the previous problems can be used as an example that the wrong was never righted. This goes back to my original assertion that the different parties will never be aligned that the problem is no longer a problem. Only when some impossible scenario exists (i.e. a SCOTUS that is 100% representative of the US demography) will the extremists finally have the evidence they need to "chill".

I sort of agree with the original poster, I would love to see the Rs have to backtrack by Obama nominating Edith Jones or Alex Kozinski......

My guy Kozinki here from 9th Cir case published today ...... judicial mic drop?
