This is a current chart of Longhorns and Sooners in the NFL.

Names in school colors are NFL starters, names in grey are 2nd string, names in white are 3rd string or not listed on the depth chart.

There are more former Longhorns starting in the NFL than there are Sooners who play in the league.

If you are a DB, why would you go anywhere else? Six of our seven DB's are starters.

Thanks to Sessamoid for compliling this information.

Surprising Cullen Loeffler is starting in the NFL. I don't think he started 1 game at The University.

Bo Scaife may be 2nd string on the Titans depth chart, but he leads the entire team in receptions with 20. Starting TE Alge Crumpler has just 7 receptions.

OU Offensive Linemen can't make it in the NFL due to ****** technique taught at OU + holding actually being called in the NFL?

I thought this was going to be an ol' fashioned ou sucks thread. Good info! Recruits SHOULD read this, and ou still sucks.

More solid information ....

OU and Texas vs. ranked teams since the beginning of the 2003 season:

OU: 13-10

UT: 15-5

Since 2004

OU: 10-8

UT: 12-3

Bowl record since 2004:

OU: 1-3

UT: 4-0

damn good post and frankly a bit surprising to me. i guess i've heard the media praise ou's athletes, their team speed, etc. for too long.

What's really amazing is that, if you look at the RIVALS recruiting lists for the last 7 years (that's as far as you can go back), Oklahoma has out-recruited Texas. So apparently OU is getting the athletes and then failing to turn them into NFL players.

Another good point is that at UT you can get a highly respected first rate education. That and there are lots of good fun things to do in Austin.

holy ****.

Another factor might be small-game bob's inclination of playing players with legitimate injuries (as opposed to just being hurt).

That is crazy. I would have thought more Sooners were in the NFL.

OU had 11 guys drafted in 05 and 6 in 06. Out of those 17 guys 9 are still in the league (Bradley, Brown, Chester, Clayton, Dvoracek,Ingram, Jones, Joseph, Pool). Most of their NFLers are from those 2 classes. Wilkerson, Williams, Harris, and Gregg are the only 4 guys with lengthy careers.

UT has guys spread out all over the place. Many more of the UT guys that get drafted are still in the league. Looking in the last few years here are the guys drafted but not in the league:
Jonathan Scott (06)
Marcus Tubbs (04)
Sloan Thomas (04)
Rod Babers (03)
Mike Williams (02)

Out of 34 guys drafted from 01 to 08, 29 still remain in the league. All the guys from the 07 and 08 classes are still in the league.

Jonathan Scott is in the league. He was signed by the Bills on Dec. 18. He is still listed on their roster on the official team website as of today.

Dereky Lokey is listed on the roster for the Chiefs and Nate Jones is listed on the roster for the Rams.

Technically, I think Benson ought to be listed in orange at this point. He started the last few games of the year for the Bengals and went on an absolute tear. I've got to think he's gonna be their guy next year, considering the only other thing they have is Chris Perry.

All those NFL starters & players and 1 conference championship in the the last 11 or 12 years.

Which coaching staff has done less with more again?

Yeh Drake but should have been 2 to 4 if the system had been better this year. 3 wins out of the last 4 years including a national title and what should be 2 conference titles.

I'm not impressed. Stoops and OU owned Texas from 2000 to 2004. But since then UT has owned them and the product that UT is producing is translating to the NFL. From a recruiting standpoint a kid might consider which team is playing better lately, which team is producing more NFL talent and thus developing their talent, and which team is likely to keep doing this in upcoming year.

With the facts in front of you it is not hard to see that UT is more of an NFL factory than OU is.

List is surprising. Gregg is a 6 year starter at NT and missed most of this season due to knee surgery, Dvorcheck has some starts and Chris Chester was starting at guard for Ravens in playoffs. Roy Williams is a starting SS so not sure why you wouldn't consider that. Matt Birk is the starting center for the Vikings - not Cullen Loeffler. Pretty sure Rufus Alexander is with the Colts. As expected the list is inaccurate and biased, but agree that UT recently has a more impressive NFL record.
