I run in the city because that is where I live. I can't tell you how many times I have almost been hit by drivers who fail to look into the cross-walk before they turn. Another common problem are drivers who pull out of parking garages across a sidewalk and fail to look for pedestrians on the sidewalk. They tend to look only left (if they are turning right) and forget that people could be coming from the right.
