Sister needs prayers

My sister has been very ill since February. Today the doctors finally found out she has cirrhosis of the liver from her diabetic medicines she has taken for years. She is not a candidate for transplant due to the diabetes. All they can do is make her comfortable. All prayers would be deeply appreciated.

I'm very sorry to hear that. You and your sister have my prayers.

I'm curious to know what type of medication she is on. Is it an oral medication or Insulin? If either of these, specifically what type (e.g. Humulin, Lente, etc.)? I did not know this particular complication could occur from any type of diabetes treatment.

Again, you are both in my prayers.

Thanks so much for your prayers. She is slightly improved and actually feeling better.
She is on oral medications. She has taken many different things but I feel the culprit was a combination of Glucophage and Celebrex. She was in congestive heart failure and Glucophage is contraindicated for CHF. She lives in Indiana and I try to keep an eye on what she is taking, but sometimes she doesn't tell me everything. I found out about these two on one of my trips to check on her. Got them discontinued as soon as I found out but not sure how long she had been on them. She also has a severe tricuspid leak and that is causing a perfusion problem for her organs. Thanks again and please keep us in your prayers.

Thanks so much for all the prayers. She is going home from the hospital tomorrow to spend her remaining time at home. I really believe in the power of prayer and miracles. Thank you again.
