And looked pretty good for not playing for two years.
Played two series so far. Drove for a field goal anyway.
On the other side of the ball Ricky ran like we all know he can.
5 for 31, 6.2 average.
Great to see these guys on the field.

Oh yea, and Simms was sacked once...by one Rod Wright.

Same here, I pull for Simms probably more than any Horn ever - partly because of the ******** he went through with our very own "fans" - but mainly because I know this kid can still light it up and prove a ton of people wrong in the process, gawd I want that so bad, for Chris to get his, and so I can stomp around and throw some sh*t back at the doubters still strong around here.

He's gotta get the hell outta Tampa though.

After watching Brad Johnson for a 1.75 quarters I would gladly drop him and trade for Chris. He would be a great back-up for the Cows should Romo go down.

There was a rumor out of Detroit that Marinelli was interested (He has picked up many Tampa castoffs). I think it would happen other than the fact that Detroit is pleased with there three QBs right now. But, if one goes down, I think it would happen.

Simms is my favorite Horn of the last 20 years. I have never witnessed a more hated and abused Horn than Simms yet, he always handled the abuse with class. One Fan Day, he was the only player who stayed until EVERY fan got an autograph (including my son). I could see and hear the UT "handlers' telling him it was okay, he could go. He refused until there was no one left in line. (Mack also stayed). Roy Williams, Vasher, Benson, D.J- long gone. Simms stayed. I will always root for him, even as he is, once again, beating up on my beloved Lions.

I'm sure if there are coaches needing to upgrade at QB, i.e., Minnesota?, and they thought Simms was as sure of a thing as you do, they would be jumping at the chance to acquire him. And, I"m not anti-Simms - what he did under physical duress was simply amazing.

Coaches like to be greedy - I"m sure he wants to make sure Garcia is healthy and that Griese is capable of playing before agreeing to let Simms go.

How many years on his contract? And how much is he making? I feel bad that he is losing his chance to be a starter, but if he is making a few million a year, I will feel less bad.

Simms looked fine last night.
Lasered one short pass between to defenders.
Not many would attempt, much less complete that pass.
He threw at least one long ball I saw and still had plenty of arm. Though he was not as accurate on that one and it fell incomplete.
I feel Chris will have to back up somebody first but will get another shot. He just wasn't a starter long enough and has been out for to long.

I was glad when I read the rumors that the Bucs were going to trade for Favre, because I felt that would finally force them to deal Simms to a place where he can get a fair shot at starting (Vikings? Bears?).

Sadly, his career is being held hostage by an evil ventriloquist's dummy.

The issue is very simple: teams interested in Simms are waiting Tampa out because they believe he is going to get cut by the Bucs.

The Bucs could not have played this worse if they tried. Had they spent the last three weeks talking about how great he looks in practice and talking him up, some team might have upped their offer for him.

Instead, they will likely get a 5th rounder at best because they **** talked him for the last year plus.

Dallas, Chicago and even SF would be great places for him.
Oh, and Detroit or Minnesota wouldn't be bad either.

Bears, Vikings, Niners would all be great.

Dallas would not be good for him in any way. Way too many quick-to-judge, irrational and ignorant folk like jimmyjazz above to make this a welcome home again. His mistakes would be compounded 10X what they would be anywhere else.

I hope Dallas get him. They are interested and could really use him if Romo goes down. Simms would benefit from Garret alot and then could be good trade bait.
