SIAP. Clemson at the White House Luncheon Fiasco.

Del Frisco's, Morton's, et al have rib eyes, t-bones, strips, and filets on their menus.

Have you been to Mortons since Fertitta bought it? Big Macs would be a step up.

That said, has The Tune Inn closed in DC? I know Geraldine died a decade ago, but it was still the best burger in DC.

As for next year, Whataburger used to have a food truck at Memorial Stadium on game days. Take it with them.

Also Bush 41 used to have the Sofka family cater BBQ; but 43 had Perini Ranch in Buffalo Gap cater prime rib.

A Clemson coach tweeted that the team loved it.
Miguel Chavis, former player and player development coach said this
"Proud to be an American and a member of the National Championship football team, the Clemson University Tigers today. I can’t believe this boy from Fayetteville, NC got to eat McDonald’s with his wife and some of his closest friends in the White House. There’s enough hate and division in the world, especially when it comes to politics. The team loved it. The families loved it, and everyone was so hospitable and welcoming in the White House. It’s a pretty cool tradition that the National Champions get to visit the White House. I don’t know if I will ever get that experience again but I’m blessed to experience it at least once!

People can politicize anything. Today and tonight wasn’t about politics, political parties, presidents or what divides us. Tonight was about a group of young men being honored for their extraordinary feat and their unbelievable character. Congrats boys; y’all deserve it!

Go Tigers and Go America!"

Will there be some who didn't like it? Yes and there would be some who who have not liked formal dinner.

Trump's appeal is to working class people. We've known that for a few years now. The people who are aghast at Trump and his pallette are not working class.

Chavis has some nerve telling everyone what they thought about the event and not letting some liberal turds tell him and everyone else what the team thought.

The haters will criticize Trump no matter what. The supporters will love Trump no matter what. The truth still exists outside of partisan opinions.

I love poor quality fast food more than the next guy, but choosing to serve poor quality fast food at the White House using White House silverware was in poor taste and a classless move. No, this has nothing to do with whether or not I or anyone should vote for him or how good or bad he is as president. Pointing out or having this correct opinion does not mean anyone’s panties are in a wad. Similar to Obama giving the Queen of England an ipod and their Prime Minister DVDs, it is just something that does not reflect well on the office. Would I or most people eat poor quality fast food? Absolutely! Would I or most people (including posters here) serve it at the White House, whether it is coming out of our pockets or not? No, just like we would not give a foreign head of state DVDs, most of us would not serve poor quality fast food at the white house if we were president.

Also, I have no doubt the vast majority of players will publicly say it was great whether they liked it or not as publicly saying otherwise would be an extremely rude, classless and ungrateful reponse to the honor of getting to visit the White House. I am also sure the coaches informed such players that criticizing the dishonorable choice of meal would be improper as well.

Why did Clemson have to eat at the White House to begin with? Why not go shake Trump's hand, get a tour, take a few pictures, and then leave to go to a restaurant somewhere?

I'm sure there are enough Clemson bag men out there to pay for it all if it was too expensive for the football program, which I am sure it wasn't.

I don't recall this much of a kerfuffle when Nixon gave Khruschev (sp?) a Chevy Monte Carlo instead of Lincoln or Cadillac. Now, I hate Chevy with a red-hot passion, but at the time I thought it was a clever move to give him an "every man's car". This hamburger thing hits me exactly the same. I won't eat at McDonalds or Wendys, but the politics look good to my eyes.

Good Points. May be that it was a kind of tradition to serve lunch to the national champs. I don't know who started it or when though.

If this or the next president has their cousin Eddie park his RV on the White House lawn and Eddie weekly empties his sewage there, I have no doubt this or the next president’s supporters will defend that as well. #partisanship

That's bull!

Well, come to think of it, that would be free fertilizer for the White House lawn which could reduce the deficit, and using natural fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer could reduce greenhouse gasses.

Only one president turned the White Hiuse into a massage parlor, and it ain’t Trump.
