LET'S GET SOME INSURANCE!!!!!!!

As astute observers have known all along, our bats are really good this year. 15 hits against the #17 team in the country. Not too shabby. Our offense rocks!!!

:hookem:

After all the angst of Friday night, the next two showed that this team is more than capable and has some pop in those bats. The SEC is a murderer's row and this team is going to have some long and tough weekends ahead so a little early season adversity is a good learning opportunity for the season to come.

I stand corrected on A. Rod.

A Rod has earned his spot near the top of the lineup. I’ve never seen a freshman perform so well at the plate so quickly. He is light years ahead of where Jared Thomas was at this point in their respective freshman seasons and Jared did really well his freshman year. Can't say enough about this kid. Unbelievable. This kid is going to leave a mark on college baseball during his time here. :fire:

Many bright spots.

Pitching: Spencer, Harrison, Burns, Riojas, Grubbs.:clap::clap:

Honorable mention: Howard, Rerick, Volantis, Saunier

Hitting: Belyeu, Gasparino, A. Rod. Each have 2 Hr.'s a piece. Belyeu and A. Rod were hard outs all weekend.:clap:

Defense: Team did turn several DP's but committed 4 errors on the short season already.

Ha! Thanks.

I think that spelling was from back in the days when Godzilla was only 80 ft tall and colored black and white.
It goes back further than that. I reinsured them on oil & gas property. One time when I was in Tokyo with my family they took everyone but me to Tokyo Disneyland for a day. (I went to the Japan Industrial Baseball League final in the Tokyo Dome.)

I suppose if I spent all my energy in game 1 like @HoffHorn , throwing tantrums like a spoiled 3 year old and loudly telling us we have zero offense, I'd have stayed completely off the rest of the thread too.

Pretty embarrassing performance there, Hoff.

In a full season, there will be games where the opposing pitcher finds the right way to put a damper on Longhorn bats. That's where pitching and defense will come to the rescue. Horns will not score in double digits every game - but they can still win the 3-2 ballgames.

Agree, but that would suggest a solid BP. We will know more about all pitching in 3 to 4 weeks.

Yep.

Batting is like fishing. If you're skilled and know what you're doing, you'll usually catch fish--sometimes many fish. But other days, no matter how good you may be, the fish just aren't biting. And it's not just against future Cy Young winners. It happens.

The New York Yankees' "murderers row" teams lost at least one out of every four games--and sometimes to lousy teams. This ain't football.
