Should some people be above the law?

Should some people be above the law?
As we are seeing Bidens and many in the Biden admin are proving they are.
Or maybe they are just getting away with writing their own laws.
The phrase "different circumstances " is getting a lot of use.
Comparing Hunter's treatment over illegal possession of firearm versus several cases of black men who got prison sentences exposes the reality.

Favour? How long have you been in the UK? I vote Republican, but blue is my favourite colour.

I do agree that she will be criticized by both sides, no matter the ruling. This week Dems chanted "Shame, Shame, Shame" after the Schiff censure vote.

Not aimed at Adam Schiff, of course.

Well, I honour your choice of favourite colour. lol

To get several British apps, I had to change a lot of my settings to UK, so my predictive text defaults to British spellings. When I catch it, I often correct it to American spellings but not always.

And I'll readily admit that some of it is rubbing off on me. For example, I now say "queue" more often than not. I also use the word "proper" more often, and I refer to "having a pint" from time to time. This sort of thing didn't happen to me in Germany as much, because I didn't watch German TV, and Germans almost always spoke American-style English to me. But over here, I'm surrounded by Brits.

I love the English, but tonight I'm getting in touch with my roots. This stuff is from Penderyn, Wales, where the first Mr. Deez to move to the New World was from. It's quite tasty.

I see a particular poster is STILL running around with the poop emoji targeting one poster. Almost as if it is Husker under another name...same energy.

Also time to mention again that RINO's suck...

@Mr. Deez

Have you tried Theakston's Old Peculier yet? That was the beer that made Mrs. Sangre love beer back when she spent a summer studying at Oxford.

I think it would suit your palate also.

I have not tried it, but I will definitely do so. I have to run by Tesco tomorrow, and I think they sell it. I'll give it a try and let you know what I think. Thanks to you and Mrs. Sangre for the recommendation!

So I am trying it for the first time, and I'm impressed with Mrs. Sangre's taste in beer. It's a dark ale with a nutty and almost caramelly taste, but it isn't overly bitter, which is a good thing. It's bitter enough to be a good beer but not so bitter that it overwhelms the palate. Good stuff but not overly pricey - £2 per bottle or 4 for £6 with a Clubcard (which I have). I'll definitely be buying it again.

Glad you like it. I just wish it was still available in Texas. Alas.

What blows is that they won't let me use the APO system to send booze. If they did, I'd send some your way. I can send non-booze, but they'll pull my box if I try to send booze. (Write your congressman - lol.)

@Sangre Naranjada , do you or Mrs. Sangre know anything about this? It's distilled.
Compress_20231013_153548_8764.jpg
I do not, but I am very intrigued.

Old Peculier is no longer available in Texas because of some piss-ant regulation at TABC (I think it was over a non-standard container size - their bottles were a couple of ounces too large or something). They lost distribution here and it has never returned, so their distilled product won't be here either. If you brought one back I would happily reimburse you for your troubles. Might even buy you some barbecue while I'm at it.

I wish I could send you some. I send stuff through the APO system all the time (takes about 10-14 days), but they won't let me send booze. If they did, I'd be the whisky and scotch source for everybody I know. What really blows is that the Royal Mail won't even let me send liquor internationally. (Deutsch Post in Germany would - for a steep price.) If you or Mrs. Sangre ever want anything from here that isn't booze, let me know.

As for bringing some back on a return trip, I'd be happy to do that. However, it'll be quite a while before we return - some time next year. I did buy a small bottle to try, and it sounds good. Here's the back label with the description.

From what I gleaned, they are distilling the beer. Typically, distillation starts with what would also be beer, except not finished and hopped. The alcohol from the initial fermentation is concentrated.

In this case, it reads as if they are fermenting the finished beer, with some additional oak for flavor balance. You found the fruity notes in the beer when you tasted it. As per the label, I suspect those notes are also very present in the spirit. I'd take a 70cl bottle, and happily wait a year to get it, if you're willing to be my mule.

So I'm at a very cool pub in a small Yorkshire village called East Witton. They have a Old Peculiar on draught. It is fantastic - even better than in the bottle. It's obviously the same beer, but on draught it has a lovely creamy texture. Exceptional.

Here in the states we say "on tap", or perhaps that's spelled taughp...

So I decided to try the lighter beer from Theakston. Very good, but I think the Old Peculiar is better. It's what the bar chick says the locals tend to drink.

Lol. I have to admit that I'm picking up British terminology. I say "queue" (rather than line), "lift" (rather than elevator), and "draught" (rather than tap). When you're around it all the time, you adjust.
