Shaka's recruiting classes

I think that's fun for Liddell and Sterns. Imagine being friends (or just acquaintances) from the same high school and being some of the top dogs in two different sports walking around the University of Texas. Good for them!

No wonder he's called Zion. He jumps all the way to heaven on those monster dunks! OMG. That kid is UN-BE-LIEV-ABLE.

Another good pic + an article about him
https://texas.rivals.com/news/ut-gains-commitment-from-one-of-the-nation-s-top-rising-prospects

"..... Hayes actually met Smart years ago when the coach was at VCU and the player was way younger, and way shorter. Hayes actually has a picture taken with Smart on the court after the game.

“It was pretty funny because we were about the same height then,” said Hayes with a laugh when asked about he and Smart discussing the photo now.

One of the most intriguing prospects in the 2018 class, Hayes, who is listed at 6-10 but is probably 6-11, saw his stock begin to soar in July. High-major programs soon jumped into the mix as Hayes’s rare blend of size, length, and skill caught the attention of college coaches. A product of Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, Hayes’s background prior to his growth spurt shows in his game, and has now led to him becoming one of the nation’s biggest risers....."

2018 5-Star Guard Keldon Johnson cut it down to five teams -- Texas, Maryland, Kentucky, NC State and Florida State.

Texas: “I have a great relationship with coach [Shaka] Smart and coach [Mike] Morrell, which goes a long way. They think I can come in and have the chance to start right away; they can help me get to where I want to go.”
Per 247, he is the No. 14 overall player and the No. 2 SG. He took OVs to Texas (Sept. 1), NC State (Sept. 8), Kentucky (Sept. 15), and Maryland (Sept. 29). He has 12 CBs, 50% to Kentucky and 33% to Texas

He just pushed his decision back into November. The thought is that he might be waiting on whether another 5* is going to pick UK

A few highlights here
