SEC Tournament

I feel like we dialed it back a little too soon... perhaps Vic was trying to conserve some energy??? At any rate, we got out of our aggressive mindset and it cost us on both ends of the floor. Thankfully we were able to hang in there and salvage the W.

Agree. These refs were terrible. They were calling ticky tack fouls and only a few of the more blatant ones but at least they were calling them in both teams. Does their performance ever get reviewed?

Game was a lot closer than it should have been.

Re: Ceelo Green, wasn’t he pushed out of his mentoring role on The Voice after it came out he had a history of molesting young women?

I do hope we are not stuck with Carolyn Peck and her screeching partner for the rest of our games. I had to hit the mute button before the half.

Well I believe the Ole Miss Cee Lo Green left his HC gig at Syracuse under less than stellar circumstances behavior wise if memory serves.

For the record, I was being silly. I know nothing about CeeLo or his twin at Ole Miss. :confused2: And it sounds like I don’t want to… eeek.

I thought the SEC player of the year made the SEC bonehead foul of the year at the end of the game, but ......I guess I will forgive her. I think they said that was the first time she had fouled out as a longhorn? That didn't sound right. I think we are going to have to rebound and shoot free throws better if we are going to beat LSU an and SC.

To no one in particular :smokin:

We have won 30 games before the big dance has even begun. We are Power #1, Net #3, overall #2 scoring margin with #16 field goal percentage, #19 scoring defense, and #11 scoring offense, as well as the committee selection second overall 1 seed. To suggest we are flawed and at risk of losing our coach isn’t stating facts. It’s spewing unnecessary hate and clearly delusional.

And I really had a lot of fun looking up those facts so thank you for that.

Next up, LSU at 6:00.

LSU allowed Florida to score 87 which is 17 over their average and 41 points more than we allowed. But LSU scored 101 so this isn’t going to be easy.

Let’s go, Horns!

:bevo:

Good win for Texas. I was wrong about my pick but I still stand by this Texas team being flawed offensively. Now they will play against a talented team in LSU. I think that LSU will win because the Texas team is still flawed offensively.

The sequence where Booker lost her shoe and Rori picked it up and the simultaneous exchange of ball and shoe and going down the court and Texas scoring has gotten lots of play and talk about team chemistry on ESPN SportsCenter complete with Rori talking about it in the postgame presser. Between last night and today I’ve lost count of how many hosts have talked about it.

Of course it’s gotten a lot of play with the SEC studio panel at the arena. Kellie Harper said she was going to “watch it in slo-mo about twelve times”.

The first game between these two showed both to start out with abysmal offensive starts. Texas was able to rebound in the second half and was about 100% at the free throw line. I'm hoping for a repeat performance, or even better since Johnson may not be playing. No one has scored more than 18 points against Texas this year which will make it hard for LSU to make up for Johnson's points if she indeed sits.

Pretty sure her sitting isn’t reversible at this point. Anyone know the rules around declaring a player not available for the entire tournament? Pretty sure there is no backsies on that.

You’re probably right. I didn’t see the report but I’m assuming it said “OUT” as opposed to “QUESTIONABLE”?

The last time we played LSU they were coming off a bye week fully rested and we were completing a 3 games in seven days run against three top 10 teams.

We got buckets from 9 players, with Booker, Harmon and Jones getting double digits and none of those three getting above 16. We had two threes and went 21/21 from the line shooting 33% overall. We held LSU to 33% and 27 points below their average. LSU will be without FJJ who scored 16.
