SEC Tournament

And I’ll still say it’s #$&@-ed up that SC plays the tournament virtually at home every year. How do they have that much pull with SEC management? What kind of dirt do they have on Sankey?

Texas is a solid #1 seed. May not get overall #1 seed, but they will be a #1 seed

Edit if they lose. I’m not conceding this game by any means however. Still two quarters to play

Doesnt matter. If we lose, we lost it early when we missed shot after open shot.

Scratching my head. Wasn't expecting such a drop off. How can you be No. 1 and have these kinds of games? I don't expect Texas to win all the time, but I hate these kind of games!🤬🤬🤬 These games don't look good on their resume.

I’m not positive but I think they just signed a 3-year extension to have the tournament there

To me, it is fluky that we have been ranked number 1. It has made things tougher on us. We are not the best team in the country. If our inside game is taken away, we don't know what to do, especially if Booker is not hitting. We don't have depth like SC. I liked it better when that much wasn't expected of us and we would take people by surprise in the NCAA's. I don't care if we get a number one seed. We would probably play better if we are underdogs.

Genuinely asking… what has happened to our offense over the past month and half? It has looked really atrocious for this weekend. Teams are sitting in a 2/3 zone and 1/3/1 zone and we are still forcing it inside and turning the ball over at a higher rate.. you have to have a really skilled passer to thread that zone and we don’t have that outside of Madison. Vic needs to make some adjustments with our offensive scheme and stop being so stubborn. If not, we won’t make it to the final four.

Greenville is about the same distance from S.C., Tenn, Ky, Ala, Georgia, Vandy .. so it's sort of centrally located. Arena is good, too, not too big, good parking and hotel access. Bon Secours is a hospital system located in Greenville and a couple of other locations in S.C. I worked there in the '90s, when it was St. Francis.

Just to add… I’m here at the tournament in Greenville and I will never come to this city again. The SEC is basically giving the sc the conference tournament title every year but putting this tournament in their state consecutively. This place is not even a tourist attraction and the arena is awful!!!

Texas is 31-2 at this point of the season and will be 31-3 when this game concludes. We will have lost to two quality programs. 2x to SC and once to the Irish.
We deserved the number 1 ranking by our play on the court. Some want to discredit that position in the polls.
I’m sure the actual experts of this level of the game know what they’re looking at more than half the little dribbler coaches on site.
One game does not diminish what this TEAM has done this season.
Games like this happen from time to time. It’s just unfortunate it’s us going through it.

We’ll bounce back. Get rested up. Get back to work. Put this loss behind us, but don’t ever forget.
We’ll be ready once again when the tournament starts.
Horns Up!!

Well, the shine is definitely off after this game. (I'm getting deja vu feelings like the days of playing Baylor.) Anyhow, I hope the gals don't start questioning themselves. Ideally, they will bounce back like they did after their first loss to SC.

Also… we have only attempted 5 three pointers.. at this point, we have nothing to lose… let thang fly! Run some sets to some shots from three— kind like miss state teams when they played 4 out.

Yep. Vic has to become better balanced and embrace the modern game.

You gotta have 3 point shooters to succeed.

Winner of UCLA/USC is probably overall number one after today. The other number one seeds should still be South Carolina, Texas and loser of UCLA/USC. Big thing is not having UCONN as your number two seed. Tough game today but they have two weeks to put it behind them and get ready for the only tournament that really matters.

Not sure if you noticed, but the past month and a half Texas has been playing some highly ranked teams. And oh, a 15 game winning streak.

USC only has three 3pointers.
Three point shooting is not what cost us this game.

Disappointing to be such a flameout. Every team will play us like LSU and S.C. - ignore outside shooting and maul the bigs. Taylor and Kyla have to make shots with defenders hanging on their arms. We are usually more athletic and skilled than our opponents, but we could have similar struggles in the tournament.

FWIW, Think Dawn is the best women's coach ever, will be considered better than Pat and maybe Geno, eventually.

Perhaps if we have Aliyah Chavez shooting from outside next year, we'll fare better.

That more than anything has caught up with us. Not to mention the hard fought physical battles in our two tournament wins.
Keep up the good fight ladies. We’re behind you 100%.
