Season Ticket Question -- Good Deal?

Long time listener first time thread starter.

I moved back to Austin almost a year ago from the northeast and in my jubilation got the first set of season tickets I could get my hands on...they were through ebay. The guy who sold them to me was great and very communicative and the tickets were 35-40 yardline upper deck on the west side (I was very pleased.) He also included a parking pass and 2 tix to the RRS.

He's asked me if I want to buy tickets from him again. The cost would be $2300 for 2 tix to the 7 home games, parking pass, plus 2 tix to the RRS. I would get the same seats as last year.

Given the donation amounts plus the cost of tickets, is this something you would do?

Thanks much for your advice.

Yes, it does include the OU tix in the price. and they are lower upper deck.

As far as the NEZ chairback tickets, I was looking at them as well, but I guess you could equate it to buying a car vs. leasing. I would have the NEZ tix for good but have a worse view, or could have a better view on a yearly basis. Or is my analogy off?

I really appreciate your thoughts on this and and any others yall or anyone else might have.

Just MHO but I think btwn the 30's in the chairbacks of West UD are
the best in the house. Don't care for the higher rows though, too much
out of it.
And Ihave had every type neighbor you can imagine up there from awesome to "glad I have radio on with ear plugs in so I don't have to listen to you *****".

Not a bad deal at all- because you are going to get the RRS tix- HOWEVER you could pony up $1000 plus donation (too late this year) and get 4 season tix with potentially 4 RRS tix. Of course you ahve to pay the what nearly $400 a ticket after the fact. Then you have for $2600 4 seats in the nose bleeds or endzone, but have 4 seats to OU at another $400 or close to $3000 total....

not sure why you wouldn't consider the NEZ seats. i sat in the NEZ once this past season and was very impressed. not to mention, i think endzone seats are pretty amazing to watch the development of plays. i also have seats on the upper west side (wife's uncle's actually, but he's never in town). they're ok, but they don't feel nearly as close as the seats in the NEZ.

last thing to consider, are you ever going to start donating yourself? it's all cumulative. you're making this guy's donation and his account is just soaking it up. just seems like you're wasting opportunities, especially if you're going to pay that much.

The biggest negative is that the seats are not in your name. The guy decides to stop purchasing season tickets or passes away, you are SOL.

Buy season tickets in your name and you get locked in.

I would consider the North Endzone as well. I'm still a student, but my tickets were there last season. Having sat in the upper deck on occassion when I was a kid, I think the end zone seats are way better. Different perpective on the game, and, especially now, much closer.

Its a good deal if you think it is. Whatever you are willing to pay is a good deal.

I was more than willing to pay $1000 up for Rose Bowl tickets, when I got them for $650 I thought I had won the lottery. Perception friend.
