Season ticket price

Why is there such a discount vs the individual ticket prices?

7 games add to $535, yet the charge is only $385. That's equal to 2 free games.

uh, I'm not pissed off. In the past seems there may have been a small discount in the price, but not > 2 games.

Blame it on the team...

If we would just suck, ticket prices would go down. So lets just all hope that the team loses 10 games a year for the next 7 or so years instead of winning 10 games.

Then we can all be happy again bc people will get rid of seats, then we can move closer to the 50 and pay less for tickets.

Then we can hope to improve to a .500 ballclub to have some sort of success, and maintain cheap ticket prices.

Hey, I know I think thats better than paying to watch one of the top teams of the decade.

This is the embodiment of UT football these days...$150 less if you give a **** and there are still people whining...

I hope you're not insinuating I was whining with this thread. I truly was stunned that the season tkt pkg was so much less than the individual game prices. I don't think anyone could whine about that. I actually thought at first there must have been a typo because of the pro teams I buy season tix for they don't give discounts like that, and UT never has of this magnitude.

Horn69, I doubt anyone was talking about you. It seemed pretty obvious you were pleasantly surprised.

I think the comments were more towards the attitudes of fans in past threads. Basically saying things equivalent to the remarks of J40 & UTGrad in this thread.

I know personally I would MUCH rather pay $100 to see a top 10 team every year beat up on the likes of Rice, FAU, etc, rather than have a Baylor like program and pay $40 to see 2 crap teams.

If high ticket prices mean we are good, hell, I'll pay....

I do think it is bad that they are selling those leftover individual game tix for such a high price for generally lesser games and lesser seats.

The days of the loyal fan with 2 to 3 kids who can't afford the money or the time to make it out to all the seasons games but wants to take his family out one weekend and pay reasonable prices are over.

Maybe it is more the case of (modestly) sticking it to the opposing teams. Since almost all of our tickets are sold through season tickets, almost all of our fans pay the reduced rate. But visiting fans have to pay the inflated single game price. Just a theory.

$40 per ticket for many is very high. A family of 4 or 5 would be paying 160-200. Of course supply is way less than demand and that is one of big reasons prices are so high. But to remember 10 years ago when you could get those cheap seats on game day from the box office....well those days are long over, even with the added seasts.
