Game 2 Summary:
Pitching - B+.
Harrison does what he habitually does: dig holes, then dig himself out of them. No harm, no foul, and all's well that ends well, but it drove his pitch count way up and he left the game before finishing four innings. Aside from that, it was a decent pitching performance by our starter, Harrison. He was spotting his fastball on the corners, and not serving up much raw meat for them to smash. 4 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 1 run, in 3.0 innings.
Ruger Riojas - this was one of his better outings. In long relief, he kept the opposition down for over 4 innings, with minimal damage. He didn't shut them out during his innings, but he provided few opportunities for them to get a bunch of RBIs and put up crooked numbers on the board. His slider was breaking pretty well, and he was getting Ks. 3 strikeouts, 3 walks, and 2 runs, in 4.2 innings
Dre DuP - a good outing by Dre. The wind may have saved him on one, but he came in there and got the job done. You could see that wicked drop to his slider again. Good control. 1 strikeout, no walks, and 0 runs, in 1.1 innings
Batting: A-
We were getting on base a lot, but stranding lots of runners ala Game 1. We also benefitted some from the very strong winds which contributed to a few misplayed balls deep in their OF. Still, we got on base a lot, and for the Moneyball guys--that's the name of the game.
Mendoza is still killing it. 3 hits today! Flores and Farmer also had multiple hit games (and maybe benefited a tad by the wind messing with the Broncos' OF). In addition to getting 2 hits, Farmer got beaned twice and he wasn't too happy about it. He gave the stink eye to the SC pitcher. 2 for 3 on the day for Farmer.
Overall, we had 10 hits and 7 walks. That's a good day, even without a homerun.
