I wondered too. On the slow mo replay, you could see it was correct. Belyeu hit the bag with his left foot first. Then the tag was applied, but Max’s left foot slid beyond the bag and his right foot was caught up in the 3B’s leg. So he was actually off the bag at the split second the tag was applied. Out.
