Thus far this year, the Broncos of the other USC in California have won series against CSUN and Cal.

Team ERA 5.63
Team WHIP 1.58

Team batting avg. 0.240
Team OPS 0.709

This is not a good looking team on paper, thus far, but they win games. They won 3 out of 4 over Cal, and have a 7-4 record.

Good control pitcher. Won't mow batters down with power and speed, but he can spot the ball well, and has serviceable breaking pitches. He doesn't walk many batters. Has recorded 109 career strikeouts against only 32 walks for a better-than 3-to-1 strikeouts-to-walks ratio. This year: 12 strikeouts to only 4 walks.

Overall--he's ok. Not too good, not too bad, just ok.

But he does get hit. UC-Davis rocked him with 7 hits (including 1 homerun) in 3 innings before he hit the showers.

"On the mound, this lefty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot and free arm action. He works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and stays directional toward the dish. FB ..... showing some run. Breaking ball shows 2/8 shape with late action. He throws his CH with FB arm speed as it shows slight run. "

Has thrown well in California Collegiate League--Summer baseball (same league Max Belyeu, Flores, and Galvan played in), where he has posted a 1.29 WHIP for the Summer.

Gomez will make us hit him to beat him. But we're more than capable of bashing him halfway back to Santa Clara.....................

................which would put him somewhere around St. George Utah.

Big Will

Goes down swinging at a breaker.

End of one.

0-0.

It took Gomez almost 30 or so pitches to get there. Our guys are really working the counts.

Spencer

He throws really fast. 97mph fastballls

His breaking stuff breaks hard and at the plate.

He’s tall and gets some down angle effect.

He throws change ups at multiple speeds effectively ala Lucas Gordon.
