Salt Lick is not all that

and you guys whining about lousy OUT OF TEXAS BBQ?

Make it yourself.

Get a pit and track down briskets. You may have to go to a meat purveyor to get one, I did when I first got to Orlando and was craving REAL BBQ, now I am able to get them at Wal-Mart supercenters sometimes and when I find them I get several and put them in the freezer.

Gettin good sausage is harder. I gotta get a stuffer on of these days and make some of my own.

Another vote for "not all that... mainly atmosphere.... cole slaw is the #1reason ?!?!... too damn far.... not as good as 4-5 places in Austin"

Another vote here for Rudy's - whoever said it sucks isn't a connisseur.

I'm actually a Salt Lick fan, but I only go to the one on 360 or at the airport. Brisket sandwich is legit.

Also, if you haven't tried it, check out the burger at Salt Lick 360. Un-friggin-believable.

I cannot see a reason why I will ever go to Salt Lick ever again. It is the Emperors New BBQ. It is very good if you don't know good BBQ or are easy to please.

I took my family + 1 to the Salt Lick last Sunday. I have never eaten so much meat in my life . . . and we didn't order "family style". It was just me, my wife, and 5 kids, and we all ordered a plate. None of them could finish their plates . . . so I did.

I like it for all the reasons others have listed above. You can find much
worse BBQ in town (Stubb's, anyone?), but you can't find a better drive or much better atmosphere.
