Rush bites the dust...

There's actually public servants in congress who are for trying to progress our country forward and bettering people's lives. On the other hand, there are those who are nothing but obstructionists and have no positive agenda. If the Republicans had a better politician as Speaker there actually could be some governing going on. As it is, the guy is scared of his shadow (and the Tea Party) and consequently nothing gets done. Hence, 8% favorability for the Congress.

Of course there are proper roles for government at all levels to fill, and the redefinition and in many cases restriction of those roles must become a central argument as we move forward, assuming we don't want our economy to collapse under our debt burden. These things are collectively funded, and are not communist in nature just because of that.

However, I wouldn't spend 10 seconds attempting to argue any nuanced position with somebody like Roger35. It would be a waste of time and bandwidth.
