Rush bites the dust...

Looking forward to conservatives applauding Cumulus' decision to drop Rush Limbaugh as free-market capitalism at work.

Libs and dems who have never really listened to Rush really crack me up. At least they'll have msnbc to keep them "informed".

Also drop Joe Scarborough on msnbc's "Morning Joe."

For weeks now I've taped and tried to watch that show in order to see all sides to all the stories, and I sort of enjoy it, but lately Joe just won't shut up and allow any dialog to move forward. He's as bad as me posting here... repeating the same thing over and over, sentence after sentence. He's become grating and contributes nothing surprising or open-minded about issues. He's just locked in same as some on Fox.

Hannity won't allow anyone to continue a point, and just like O'Riley he makes the conversation all about his set view and won't permit even 30 seconds to unravel and expand from the voice of others. Watch the first 5 min, and you've seen the whole show. Same lately with Scarborough on just about any topic he gets started on.

I like surprise shifts now and then, else why watch?

Just Go, Joe. Take a break and let Mika lead and co-host with Willie. You've become as tiring as all the rest out there who have become tiring. Tiresome is, I'm afraid, non-partisan.

I'm conservative, for the most part, but I don't necessarily like Rush, Hannity and what's his face..............Beck.
You might find it surprising that some people aren't afraid of dialogue between the parties and hold either accountable when appropriate.

According to the article, if dropped, he'll just move to Clear Channel Stations in same markets. No big deal. He's hardly "biting the dust". Dream on Leftie.

I have really enjoyed listening to Jack Riccardi on KTSA. It's a shame the signal doesn't carry into Austin very well. This is a conservative (not Republican) radio show without the bombastic commentary and overkill that seems to plague most of the national broadcasters. If you ever get the opportunity I encourage anybody to tune in to 550AM in the 9 to 1 time slot. It is a very refreshing change.

I'm sure they'll both be back on the radio airwaves in short order. Their ratings are too high, I presume, to not be profitable to stations across the country.

I doubt they ever leave the air in these 40 markets (did anyone read Clean's post?). They're moving over to Clear Channel-owned stations, more than likely.

Limbaugh is on about 600 radio stations, and Hannity is on about 500.

The OP is more misinformation from the left. Or perhaps disinformation? The difference is intent.

Of the Fox Contributors, I find Kirsten Powers more a straight shooter, from their range of contributors.

If I want entertainment with a fully-expected view, I'll go with Judge Jeanine Pirro. A slap-your-face cutup is Michelle Malkin.

For all-around demeanor on Fox...

Charles Krauthammer, astute, unabashed, to-the-point. Clear.
Bret Baier, best full hour host, solid professional. I'm down to just DVR him only daily.
Shannon Bream... what can I say!! Nice anytime she is on.
Chris Stirewalt, always pleasant and tells instead of hypes.
Megyn Kelly, if I have to sit through a stretch and accept a balance of professional and still-biased and upbeat delivery.
Kirsten Powers, a solid serious contributor when on. Makes me a little nervous because I know she's going to say it like it is.

I confess going back to the winter I had to just stop watching CNN. Not fulfilled anymore by much of anything there. Piers Morgan helped run me off for good.

Have tried MSNBC and like the "New York City" style of Morning Joe.
HATE Fox News production values. Should hire me to re-do everything in their studio, including going 1080p for Heaven's Sake.

Rush and Beck... just not me. Not then, not now. I switched to Fox because it more fits my views in general, but I'm a critical watcher. Had to just quit The FIVE entirely after a short run of entertainment by them.

Used to try to listen to Michael Savage when I lived in the Bay Area... wonder what he thinks about things these days...

Jeff Ward (KLBJ - Austin) is the only radio talk show host who isn't mostly a waste of time to listen to. Having said that, Limbaugh and Hannity are exactly what the GOP base (a demographic that is active and relatively wealthy - meaning sponsors will pay to have their ear) wants. Their shows aren't going anywhere.

Since some of you kids are unable to google news stories, I guess I'll have to provide a link for you. 6721, can you read this late at night?

Looks to me like it's a setback for Hannity and Limbaugh in that existing outlets failed to meet their new asking price. Seeing as how they are the most listened-to voices on the radio and will no doubt have other powerful stations pick up the signal and pour money into their pockets, it's just a flesh wound or a minor skin rash

Yeah... he really bit the dust.

I dont listen to him anymore... I liked the humor during the clinton years but you dont hear much of that since then.

What is it about the left and their undying desire to dominate all avenues of public discord? You have music, movies, Print journalism, TV (except for fox) journalism, public and higher education. How insecure must you be about your fragile worldview that a guy on a radio band that should have died 35 years ago have you pinkos frothing at the mouth.

Here's your answer Hook: The Pubs take their signals from Rush. Because he appeals to the extreme right, i.e., Tea Party, what he says is what is parroted back to the Pub politicians. He bears a big brunt of reason the Pubs continue to be pulled into the ditch and lose national elections. Maybe you should wish he loses some of his exposure.

Wow, good to know you are so worried about the health of the republican party. Nonsense. Also, if the party establishment are so slavish to Rush's every whim why did they nominate two RINOs in the last two pres elections.

I know those are anti Rush talking points leftist regurgitate without thinking. Neither makes the least bit of sense.

I have never listened to Rush regularly.

What National Elections are you talking about?

There is only one that I can think of, POTUS, and the last 10 elections are 5-5.

Senate is close and the House is Republican, Majority of Governors and State Houses are Republican.

Please explain your MSNBC worthless parrot about National Elections?

I listened to Rush today so apparently he didn't bite the dust. To be such a "pub" backer he talked an awful lot about kicking everyone out of DC because they're all part of the problem. An he's right.

If any of you libs actually listened to him he's almost as critical of the Republican Party as he is the Dem party.

I'm sure I'd agree with some of his ideas but he's proven himself over and over to be a blowhard hypocrite. Given that fact, I have a revulsion to supporting those media personalities through my listening habits.

I don't listen to Rush and the only time I listen to AM stations is when scanning for a football game. And yes Rush is a blowhard hypocrite. But if you have an intrinsic dislike for blowhard hypocrites, then how can you vote for any politician?
