man, I love this guy, he is GREAT for college football, and likewise, DKR is GREAT also--have met them both personally--but pleez, when you are referring to the football stadium where The University plays, please say "Royal- Texas Memorial stadium"---sorry, but it bugs me when he calls it "Royal Memorial stadium"--kind of down plays why it is named after those who served our country ( had a cousin who was a WWII pilot)--anyone else agree, or am I being too knit picky? you would think he would know otherwise

I agree that he is one of my favorite. But he is an Austin guy and he knows that it is Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium. But technically it was just Memorial Stadium all these years. Yes a lot of people have gotten used to it all these years, but the people who have been going to games for 40-50 or 60 plus years will still call it Memorial stadium. Look on the brightside...atleast it is not named Gaylord.

It is just not good television for an announcer to say "well it looks like his knee was down on the turf of Joe Jamail Field at Darrell K. Royal, Texas Memorial Stadium."

It slightly bothers me about how our school tries to tie donors in with legends etc. We "overdo" it slightly.

I mean...heck over the many years and LFD donations and money pumped into this monster... they should let us all have our little piece of immortality.

In fact I am going to take matters into my own hands and claim the 3rd shitter from the north end of the mid-level men's bathroom near sections 5/6 on the West side as my own. That stall is now the "Lancehorn Lounge in the Ron McKelvey bathroom at Darrell K. Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium." I might bring my own name plate to make it look more official.
