Romney on FEMA

there are scandals and corruptions in private sector and in public sector. the solution is not to get rid of the agency but to improve it. and that is what President Obama has done. because of his effective government you are seeing well executed responses to these natural disasters. because these disasters often occur across state borders it makes sense to have a federal agency to coordinate.

Well prepared FEMA must have forgotten to " stage" bottled water
The Link
"In fact, the agency appears to have been completely unprepared to distribute bottled water to Hurricane Sandy victims when the storm hit this Monday. In contrast to its stated policy, FEMA failed to have any meaningful supplies of bottled water -- or any other supplies, for that matter -- stored in nearby facilities as it had proclaimed it would on its website. This was the case despite several days advance warning of the impending storm."

Because apparently no one at FEMA could have see that Sadny would disrupt water and no one FEMA could figure out days ahead that millions of bottles of water might be needed for citizens in the NYC area.

horn are there reports of people going days without any water like was the case with Katrina?

you can always find flaws but show me people laying in the street dead for days aleady or just shut the heck up.

If Bush were Pres. now, he would be crucified by the media for the lack of help getting to residents affected by Sandy. Crucified. But now FEMA is getting a pass. I can't imagine why.

But something needs to be done quickly, before people freeze or continue to try to keep warm by turning on their gas stoves. And they need water, too, and food. And gas.
